I admit I'm mostly a lurker and hardly keep track of these sorts of things but...didn't this happen before? Like, several months back when Dark Side of the Moon was still a thing? Only for it to be proven wrong?

What exactly changed? New evidence or something? I'm just asking because I want to make sure I'm not tripping balls and have somehow gone back in time...

Yep. Pretty much when Mike made his board (which Bitter was a mod of) CV created a new account called Bittersweet (with one of the e's being an alt code) and claimed to be CV to Mike in a PM or something this caused Mike to ban Bitter (who is now revealed to also actually be CV). Bitter then got banned here until they 'sorted things out' then it got out that that CV had used an alt code and whatnot etc. and everything was fine and dandy.

Then like a few days ago or something a leak (that coulda been totally intentional who knows) comes out saying that it is true and points at Bittersweets first post on this forum which spells out Crying Vegeta with the capital letters at the beginning of each sentence along with a chat log from somewhere else (And probably a few other things) made the admins decide they needed to check Bittersweet's PMs and found legit proof that they are the same people.

We're a bunch of old softies. We felt a week wasn't long enough, but a perm would be too much, for both of them. Despite what he did, Leo was still doing active moderation, and Mcjon isn't usually one to cause drama.

Basically, actively helping him hide his identity. Leo knew about it, but did not tell us (and passed on what we were saying so CV could stay a step ahead). Mcjon also knew, and did not tell us, but then helped CV out by letting him post from his IPs so that we'd keep thinking that there was no real link.

Long story short, if you're helping keeping them hiding from us, you're aiding. If you just know, but don't tell us, then you know but you're not really helping them out.

I just think it's dumb to revoke Leo's mod privileges when he did his job perfectly fine for the whole time, dare I say better than his colleagues.

We have too many moderators, yes, but with more than half of them being all but inactive I'd reconsider if you really want to take his privileges away and not just let him out for a month.

Like Kyte said, we no longer felt we could trust him. We don't even know how much he told CV, but basically, the fact that he was not only hiding it from us, but actively telling him things that were being posted in the admin forum, was just too much of a breach of trust.
