People on the US kill animals because they attacked someone. This is stupid.
I mean, if it attacked the girl and fled, is one thing; but if it attacked her and people are unable to control it and shooting is the only way to save the girl is something completely different. They could have shot it with a tranquilizer since it fled and was free, but no, they followed the bear just to kill it.
Another recent example is a dog owner who was about to be busted because his car's radio was loud. The policemen asked him to go out of the car, and he had a dog with him, but it had a collar. After seeing his owner being busted, the dog jumped out of the car by the window and started to bark at them. Instead of asking the owner to control his pet (even of they had to point their guns at him while he was doing so), they simply shoot the dog, about three or four times.

Last year in my town a black bear was found in a forested area of a town park. Naturally, they called out the SWAT team to kill the bear if it moves out of the park, while waiting for animal control. Turns out animal control isn't equipped to deal with bears (as this is a mostly urban area), and all the tranquilizers from the local zoo take 15-25 minutes to take effect, so they just decided to shoot it. Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
It's a matter of knowledge by their part. Since they're supposed to be from the Animal Control, they should know what to do. Everybody knows how to kill an animal, but they should catch them properly instead of killing them, as far as possible.
The media has been showing some news about shark attacks. There's a beach here in the northeast of the country that has a high incidence of such attacks, and there are A LOT of warning signs over the whole beach, and also, many life guards. They talk to people and explain them that they shouldn't go to the sea, but some people don't listen. You may know what happened: A girl has been attacked by a shark and was seriously injured, thus she died the next day. Now her family wants to sue the state and make the government hunt and kill sharks in that area because the girl died. They even hunted sharks for a day ad killed three tiger sharks, this is sad.
Man, I hope they don't win this, they were warned and didn't listen. We're going through their territories, that's the truth.

Thing is though that Tiger Sharks are rather dangerous. Not that I support the killing but it is a logical reaction.

An animal is an animal. Even if you can't save someone, going after the species for revenge is wrong.
Plus, shark attacks kill very few people.
A tiger shark is only dangerous if you swim right into its feeding grounds. The fact that the girl went swimming when she knew about the threat gains no sympathy from me and doesn't justify the fact that sharks were killed. It's tragic that she died, yes, but the sharks aren't to blame. She should have listened to the warning and waited until there was a safer time to go into the sea, or just should have found another beach.
I want to mount a shark head on the hood of my pick up truck. Time to get my rifle and go out to sea.
Why not just take the head and mount it in your home? Or do you want to show it off?
