Now lets have a silly hypothetical here. Lets say someone was going away for a period of roughly exactly 8 weeks and wanted their name to look wicked cool and red like while they were unable to post. And also to confuse people. While they were away the only possible use of their account would be someone illicitly gaining access to it. With the mildly sensical latter explanation for the self-imposed exile would the admin team make good on such a frivolous request after this precedent?

He kept mentioning he was at his job all the while he posted, and occasionally said he was getting into disagreements with his boss regarding stuff like that - or when his losing his temper in the forum made him be a git to people at work. People here yelled at him for being stupid over it, but ... *shrug*
To answer the thoughts of a number of people in this thread, yes, I have - and am very aware I have - awful control over myself. I preferred to have the crutch of being banned rather than test it in the middle of something important to my education. It indeed would be better for me in the long run to work on my restraint, but I was (and am) quite happy to abandon that nice, abstract, personality goal in favour of the very immediate and concrete problems I was having.
That crunch period is done (mostly), but expect to see less of me for several weeks, I imagine until most of the way through October.
