its entirely possible seika is the first person to actually lay out a good reason and a timetable as opposed to just demanding to be banned.
You would be surprised how disarming a bit of logic and preparation can be!

Generally no. I championed an exception because it had to deal with schoolwork. DP didn't agree at all, but the other admins were lenient towards it. If someone is wanting banned just to be banned, or are being entitled pricks, they won't get shit. If there's a genuine reason, I'll at least look it over.

It's pretty understandable seeing as I flunked nearly 4 semesters worth of papers because of my own various Internet addictions and an extreme lack of willpower. The Dr. said my OCD also exacerbates the situation.

I agree, but she gave a moderately good reason and a time frame.
Not something to just give people all the time, however. Like most things, we judge on a case by case basis and discuss it before giving someone leeway.

I dunno. These relative, vague conditions you specified for giving leeway towards a rule irk me the wrong way. By applying this logic, that means if you specified the right conditions, then any strict rule that forbids something can be eventually ignored and it defeats the overall purpose of these rules. I'm new here, but this isn't something people on other websites I've visited would be so liberal with.
