Anime is an adaptation of light novels by the creator of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha. Began airing since October 5th. MMORPG becomes virtual reality, trapping hundred thousands players in it. Our hero is of Enchanter Class, our heroine is super moe ninja assassin. Opening theme is so damn catchy.

Welp, I'm sold.
First episode makes this seem like the lovechild of .hack and SAO; SAO's shit-got-real with a feel that's closer to .hack's. Interesting enough premise. Pretty good so far.
It needs nothing else.

Well that certainly explains why the series has a sense of self-awareness of the trappings of its own genre if it's done by the same guy.

Kinda funny how this is already considered an own genre despite theree only beeing 3 big stories/franchises using the setting, this included.
What you never watched TV? There was a ton of stories about being trapped inside games. Jumanji is one for example.

Watched the first episode. I actually really like it, it was a lot more light hearted than I expected it to be.
Linger: Complete. August, 1995. I met him. A branch off Part 3. Mikiya keeps his promise to meet Azaka, and meets again with that mysterious girl he once found in the rain.
Shinkai: Set in the Edo period. DHO-centric. As mysterious figures gather in the city, a young woman unearths the dark secrets of the Asakami family.
The Dollkeeper: A Fate side-story. The memoirs of the last tuner of the Einzberns. A record of the end of a family.
Overcount 2030: Extra x Notes. A girl with no memories is found by a nameless soldier, and wakes up to a world of war.
Shiroe has a good and cool head on his shoulders and thinks properly about things. I like him.
Akatsuki is terribly cute, and also has a strong personality. Liking her quite a bit too. She was also being hilariously deadpan when she was slightly trolling Naotsugu. Who is also a cool guy.
Lots of little details about this that I enjoyed. It was a really good moment when they learned how to use hotkeys to abilities by instinct. Pretty cool.
Looking forward to more of this. If OP and ED mean anything, Akatsuki confirmed for heroine, matched with Shiroe. This pleases me.

Akatsuki's male form was rather hot, but I prefer her as a cute young lady. Fanfic will be written with her staying in that form sometime though.
