Well there are exceptions I don't hate

It might seem that the picture is posted is an example of drawings I don't hate. That is not quite true, I'm still in consideration about it.

Superlandmine, this is a thread for drawings, not photographs.

There is no such rule :P

Had I not gone for two hues + ink restriction it could have looked much more photo-like.
Or maybe not. I still can't draw trees and those grass-stuff-peeking-from-under-the-snow things

I don't like too realistic looking stuff anyway. Reminds me of RL.

When I've just started using SAI on one hand I was delighted how simple and easy to operate it was, but on the other hand I felt it was lacking some features I often needed during my drawing sprees. Among latter were gradient tool, advanced filtering and proportional scale. While it took me relatively small time to forget about first two things, I only lately grew to appreciate the true artistic advantage of absence of proportional scale.

Initially your post caused a thought like "wow my water tool skills are so great they make stuff look like drawn with gradient tool", but then I realized that instead of wasting about 15 or even 20 minutes to painting and then smearing the damn thing I could have simply opened gimp and used the gradient tool.

Thank you very much, it looks like great thing, going to try it soon.

I see it supports text, that's amazing cause SAI doesn't and making comics in it requires additional software to insert it, quite a pain in the ass

You can save it as a .psd on SAI and open it up on gimp. I don't think cross-developing is that much of a problem. Still, this does remind me that I need to shape up my painting skills.

Yeah, that's the way I did it before.

Had been traveling, finally came back and checked out Krita. My smile and optimism: gone. The damn thing crashed every time I tried to create a new picture. Bonus points for being so slow I couldn't properly lay a stroke. x86 version, despite blurting out message "blah blah something not recommended blah blah download x64 blah" actually managed to create me a new picture. But otherwise was as slow as x64 one.

I believe that some of these issues are to blame on my old and creaky hardware which can't hold all this new resource-hungry stuff. So I'm staying with SAI which is lightweight enough to work with big enough pictures on my old shit-

I'm blaming your old hardware, works fine for me. But yeah, SAI is a lot lighter and generally easier to use, I think.

    Thanks.
In the hindsight, I should have managed some background for this one

The guy I watched F/SN anime with compared Saber in one scene to a suspicious guard dog. And then I suddenly realized that Saber is a dog-girl as opposed to Rin's cat-girl. Side hair bangs are the "ears" and ahoge is the "tail".
I didn't actually plan to draw Saber, I wanted to draw Caster Cu, but then I somehow drew Saber. Maybe Takeuchi has it this way too.

My Inability to Draw Trees skill dropped one rank.

That Saber reminds me of a Disney princess!

O walls, you have held up so much tedious graffiti that I am amazed you have not already collapsed in ruin.
