Got an idea to draw this strip after reading a translated part of one of the Mahoyo chapters. Thought for a while what should I dress Touko in because I can't see her doing stuff in her lab while wearing those fabulous clothes. I dug out a prototype design for her with black hair and black uniform, quite a cute one. So you can say I stuffed her in the sort of blouse she'd wear under that uniform.

Ah, I believe I already finished the lineart for that Aoko pic, but to lazy to check if I really did. Anyway, it has to wait for a while because I have other stuff on the pipeline.

it's interesting how you have problems with human shape, but your <mise-en-scene> is so friggin' awesome.

Yeah, I totally need to practice more at drawing humans. And actually use references cause most of the time I'm too lazy to look for a proper reference.

What I'm also bothered about is how to make a proper pause in a comic/comic strip when there are no speech balloons involved or how to work on pacing in general. I have some ideas and read stuff about it, but it's different when it comes to the drawing itself. In my head I have that animated sequence of the scene I need to convey through the bunch of static panels, but the transition process is tough. What should be put in and what is better left out? How to make it flow properly? And I can't even evaluate the result without bias because I already have that animated sequence in my mind helping to reconstruct it from the panels. I like Arc's design so much. That white sweater looks comfy and has her signature color, nice long skirt with contrasting to it, but still but not too dark and rather warm and lively color, also the shape of it repeats the shape of her hair and it's good. The funnels on her hair give her cat-like image which is very cute. The only thing I don't quite like are twin ahoges, they give some bug-like feeling, but those are later addition. Of course her redesign shits on all those nice things, but whatever.

I somewhat messed up the skirt on this pic, also there is that one error I always make because of which pictures like this look less pretty than they could have been.

Maybe Magical Girl style transformation would have looked not half bad either



So I wanted to draw a picture called "Overlord". I found an old drawing of knight by middle-school me and thought I'd draw something like that, but with more 'kono pressure'. Knight's armor was heavily, um, inspired by Sauron's. I should do more sketches, these are still wrong.
