So yeah, you've probably heard the news but Capaldi is leaving DW after the next Christmas special.



A real shame, but who do you think should replace him? Will #13 be the reputed Female Doctor?

Right now an early suggestion I've heard is Ben Whishaw, whose most popular role (I think) is him portrayal of 'Q' in the last couple of Bond films. I could definitely see him as the Doctor, but time will tell on whether that will pan out.

I just noticed that, in Genesis of the Daleks, Davros is surprised that his "kids" want to kill him, but then in Magician's Apprentice, he expresses disappointment that his "kids" don't want to kill him. Parent whom doesn't know what he wants from his kids. Also, given how TARDIS Wikia http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/The_Mag...ice_(TV_story) worded it, "it would not be right to kill a child who would cause nothing but evil once grown", I guess that Shirou was wrong to kill the unborn Angra Mainyu in HF route, huh?

So the first episode of the new season aired just now.

Hmm....I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up.

Hot damn, that was the best episode of Doctor Who in like forever.

David Suchet was great as the bumbling landlord who slowly gets creepier as more people go missing. I didn't see that twist with the daughter at the end coming at all. But most importantly, I actually liked Bill in this episode. Hallelujah!!!

I give this episode, a solid 8/10.

I know that regeneration happens when Time Lords take lethal damage, but most regenerations that I've seen are just for wounds that, while fatal, still leave the body mostly intact. Can Time Lords regenerate from a beheading? If so, which part is the "alive" part?

I'd assume the torso, since its probably much easier to regrow a single appendage than an everything else. Then you could regrow him from the leftover bit like Ten did from his hand.

Isn't the brain a more complex organ than the rest, or is size the only thing that matters, like in Ajin? In terms of Cybermen:

I thought that love wasn't an emotion, but a promise? Also, I love how, after love, the Doctor mentions pride, fear, and hate. Isn't that the Dark Side of the Force?

And so, an okay finale to a rather lacklustre season.

Overall, I felt this was a decent episode but kind of a step down from the hype of the previous episode. The Cyber-Bill felt like a repeat of Dalek-Clara but it was more interesting. I definitely felt that the Master was wasted in this episode, he and Missy barely did anything aside from complain and then kill each other. I forget, why was the Doctor regenerating again, did they give a reason and I'm being dumb? That Pilot chick definitely felt like a massive Deus ex Machina mainly because of how vaguely defined and over powered that puddle is. But I guess Moffat couldn't not have a happy ending. Speaking of endings, I guess my main gripe with this episode is that despite it being a season finale, nothing really felt like it "ended" so to speak. The ship is still in front of a black hole, Nardole and crew are still under threat from the Cybermen, the Master commits suicide twice and then leaves, Bill disappears with puddle-girl and the Doctor is left with a massive cliffhanger. Which I am very excited for as David Bradley was awesome as the First Doctor.

I'm getting tired of goofiness POORLY mixed with serious drama
every fucking moffat episode
finale felt like waste of potential to be honest

Overall when i was watching the season it seemed ok
but now that i try to remember anything it kinda sucks cuz i dont really remember anything meaning there wasnt much to remember

its double weird when you think about it. Capaldi is amazing Doctor. Nardole is super-fun. Missy is amazing. SIMM CAME BACK... and it resulted in a one plot-twist and a double KO... and nothing else. In a 2 episodes timespan. What a waste.

On the other hand
Bill is the waste of a companion. Didnt really do anything. She kinda died but kinda didnt... what? ah whatever. Stories were kinda nice but nothing particularly memorable. Monks arc was okay i guess. The whole VAULT thing didnt go anywhere. I mean they went different direction with it and the whole first part of a season kinda meant nothing.

So i guess amazing cast and poor writing kinda even out. Not really that great of a thing with cast THIS GOOD.

I do look forward to special a great deal.
