What I find even more Scandalous is that this thread is still on going after the anime ended so much time ago.
Since we are at it how much memes were born here?
I could look in the 1943 pages of the thread but I think it would be easier to just gently ask.
Put it as a spoiler for laserman's sake if you do tell me though.

Just to get that out out of the way. Archer vs Lancer was one the fights I really waiting for. And it didn't disappoint. I like they depicted Rho Aias. Made it feel like the conceptual weapon it is. And the aftermath of the clash, I didn't think it cause that kind of damage. They also showed off the toll that just blocking it took on Archer. Seeing Rin beatdown Caster physically was pretty cool. That's what happens when your teacher is a Baji-quan master and your opponent is a squishy caster.
I don't know why they made Archer say "Trace On" when he in for the kill. I mean at that point people should be suspecting, but that basically confirms it for them. Meh.
Spoiler:
Wow. It's been an actual month. Well, I should finish watching in this about two days, a week? We're getting to the climax of the route after all.
Episode 18 was Archer putting Shirou in check. He's all but assured Shirou will come after him. The small fight between Archer and Saber was amazing for how short it was.
I didn't expect her to break his swords with Invisble Air still covering Excalibur. I expected a tiny bit more clashing before he went down on his knees.
I know she's better than him at sword fighting but that was so one-sided lol. The "I liked you better when your mana depleted" made me laugh for a good bit.
Then he used decided to use his Noble Phantasm for everyone to see and it was awesome. Ufotable had a lot of fun with the fire from Unlimited Blade Works being used and to be honest I don't know if I like the straight up fire from before or the multicolor one now.
One last thought though, watching this in anime form really is making me seriously question why I like Archer at all. To anyone new watching the anime, with the way he is acting and what he is doing, they would probably hate him and should. You're meant to dislike him at this point. So what does that make me? I don't know how to feel, I mean I understand why he's doing what he's doing, but I don't agree with it. And then there's the ending...
Spoiler:
Yes, new viewers hated Archer at this point. My GF and friends new to Fate all hated Archer for the entire anime, but felt pity for him when he confronted and battled Shirou and they loved him when he saved the day. Then they all went full fanboy/fangirl mode for him. TBH for non-VN readers UBW was considered as an anime with great character development, at least for the people that I have referred the anime to.

Spoiler:
Tbf if you don't already know literally everything that's going to happen it's pretty good.
Just watched Episode 19. Just the beginning itself was great with how they showed off Archer making the contract. So I'm assuming that's how the Counter Force looks? They showed off how Counter Guardians work and I thought they did a great job with incorporating that into Archer's story about himself. I also liked how they put clips from Fate/Zero into Kotomine's reveal. That was a nice touch. But then after Shirou refused to kill himself and rejected everything Archer said I heard it. That familiar music. It's been remixed many times, and maybe even before in this anime without me noticing, but I recognized it immediately. And with the theme starting to playing, the fight that defines the route begins.
Spoiler:
I know right. It was so awesome. And then there's Lancer's casual entrance to save Rin. Then that happened.

Spoiler:
Episode 20: Unlimited Blade Works. At the start of the episode, just when everything seems bad, Lancer comes to save the day twice in row and made Shinji scream like a little girl at a small poke 10/10.
RIP Lancer. You're awesome and deserve way more respect than what you get now.
Now to talk about the fight. That fight was so amazing! There are so many moments that I liked. Ufotable has done an excellent job portraying how Shirou gets so beaten up by Archer and how in control of the fight Archer was. He just doesn't want to kill Shirou, he wants Shirou to admit his ideals are wrong. Then he'll happily hack him to pieces. And he nearly got what he wanted, until Shirou got back up and realized that Archer missed one thing. And I can't forget about the insert song I've heard nothing but good things about, Last Stardust. It really was as good as everyone said it was. I didn't doubt it, I just didn't hear it until now.

Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.
