The anime is great though, the comic timing of stuff is really better in a lot of cases and using the musical artist that inspired the mangaka gives it the feel she wanted too. And you get to hear Kamiya and Sugita before they were Kamiya and Sugita!
But yeah, fansubs better.

Well, I'm sold. Time to sail the seven seas!
My first Hosoda film ended up being The Boy and the Beast. Suspect it's not the strongest of his works, but I liked it just fine.
The two leads being bratty to each other was surprisingly amusing
Summer Wars probably unobtainable powerlevel ever again. But Wolf Children and Girl Who Leapt still great.

It's better than OWG in every way.
Summer Wars is the only film that I've taken people to screenings of that are like, "okay I guess I'll check it out" and then after the movie ended their first words are "is the dealer's room open/is it on amazon I need to buy this." Three times.

Top 10 (or 5) favorite movies?
Linger: Complete. August, 1995. I met him. A branch off Part 3. Mikiya keeps his promise to meet Azaka, and meets again with that mysterious girl he once found in the rain.

The Dollkeeper: A Fate side-story. The memoirs of the last tuner of the Einzberns. A record of the end of a family.
Overcount 2030: Extra x Notes. A girl with no memories is found by a nameless soldier, and wakes up to a world of war.

TGWLTT was indeed very good.
I even got the novel that the film was based on, though the plot differs a fair bit.

Anime original movies that aren't sequels or something in no particular order
Summer Wars
Wolf Children
5 Centimeters Per Second
Castle in the Sky
Princess Mononoke
Tokyo Godfathers
Millennium Actress
Ghost in the Shell
Grave of the Fireflies
>_>...Wicked City
Throw in adaptations or sequels or such and Madoka: Rebellion, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Rakkyo 2 and 5, Princess and the Pilot, and End of Eva are probably in there.
