also started reading Reiri and Hakuba no Ouji-sama. They're okay so far...
So, in 48 hours I binged the anime adaptation of the "Gungrave" video game series.
...I don't know if there is such a thing as a "perfect show", but I think Gungrave is the closest I'm ever going to see to it. It had everything I could have wanted, a well written cast of characters, a complex mafia drama plot and over the top gunslinging action all packed together with an amazing ending that made even me shed tears at the end. T_T
Definitely on the list as one of my all-time favourite series. <3

It's too bad Gungrave's first episode was so misleading. I dropped the show when it looked like it was going to be hot garbage, then years later came back to it because of the reviews.

I watched the Dragonball Super Broly movie on a whim and oh my goodness, did not expect to enjoy Dragonball content this much ever again. Haven't enjoyed DB this much since back when DB was "my thing", back in my preteens.

Nisekoi - It's surprisingly good -- for what it is, as a harem. I wasn't expecting sheer brilliance, and I didn't get it, but I quite like the show.
Martian Successor Nadesico - Thought I'd give it a shot, and it's ok so far. Some really funny moments, but I do hope it improves. Good balance of humor and drama, as well; feel that's hard to do right.

Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V Episode 54: And I get to see what happened to Yuzu/Zuzu and learn more about Yugo. I don't know if Zero Reverse happened in this version of New Domino City, but it has inequality just like it. Even has a Facility too, and for all I know, everything could be worse. Calling Sector Security on people just because they're in a park, is just mean. I love Jack is this big hero to the Commons in this dimension for getting out of the slums on his own. I just hope he isn't being used like in 5D's.
Speaking of 5D's, just what I saw of the start of the duel between Yugo and the Sector Security guy was awesome. I love how the roads were transforming to make way for them, the announcement of a Turbo Duel starting. I'm going to like the Synchro Dimension arc.
Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V Episode 55: Yugo schooled that officer, but now him and Zuzu are wanted by Sector Security, and the Lancers just happened to get separated on their transport to the Synchro Dimension at the same time. I can't believe it didn't occur to Declan/Reiji to test that before using it.

So I marathoned Gundam Unicorn in one afternoon/night. I can see why people called it a giant love letter to Gundam. Bannager was a little weak as a protagonist until the end, but the story was good pretty much until the climax. While I can appreciate the "Everything ends where it started" trope, having it as the endpoint to a treasure hunt means that most of the plot was a wild goose chase. There wasn't even the token "You needed to experience the journey yourself" thrown in. Just the McGuffin being literally underneath their feet for the entire opening act. I wonder what might have happened if the idiots who decide to fire on a civilian colony and been a little more reckless and destroyed the entire area that was the lynchpin of the conspiracy plot.
It sure was pretty though. Marida best girl.

Yugioh Arc-V Episode 56: Those Sector Security guys acted like they didn't know what a Fusion Summoning was, I guess each dimension, besides Standard, only has that one method of Special Summoning from the Extra Deck, which makes sense. But that director guy wasn't surprised about the Fusion Summoning, only the Pendulum Summoning. I wonder if he's in league with the Fusion Dimension already.

I started watching Gen:lock since I ran out of proper anime for the night. Pretty standard mecha setup with some strange choices, like hiring a Japanese VA and subtitling him like the Ghost in the Shell movie did for Beat Takeshi, or stopping a scene to explain away a characters gender. The animation is alright, better tgna some seasons of RWBY at least. The voice acting is pretty good on average but easily my favourite part of the show is David Tennant as the head scientist.
Though the whole show is in an annoying goddamn letterbox.
