When things go off model for sake of animation I tend to think of it as expressive. But if they drop all shaders and details in the same shot the expression I end up drawing from it is often similarly bland.

FF XIV: Walked to the End
Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
Does anyone know if the US Vampire Bund omnibus is translated from the Japanese omnibus by TO Books or just the English volumes bound together?
Kill La Kill Episode 6: I can't believe Sanageyama gave up his eyes just to beat Ryuko. That's insane.
Spoiler:
Man, I love Kill la Kill to death. But not enough to shell out $1,200 for the BD's.

I read the first chapter of Fire Force after watching a few episodes of the anime, and it made a few things clear that weren't in the anime, like how pyrokinetics came to exist, and there were a few more details that I wish were in the anime. In any case, I just want to cover my bases and also get caught up on where those series actually are.
Huh. You'd think I'd see more complaints about it, given how source fans love to complain when an anime doesn't adapt correctly Unless it's something where the source is untranslated or something (Cop Craft, for example), and thus there's little source fans in the west.

Finished the first 12 episode of Kill la Kill. Episode 12 was so amazing, I didn't think someone like that would be her father's killer. Man, characters like her are so scary.

Finished Hataraku Saibou.

OK. It was a matter of when. But I finally feel the time hath come. I've started SAO (just episode 1 so far). Given my tastes, it's highly liklely I'll enjoy it. Fuck the haters. And before you come to me with muh criticism, what I mean by haters is the people who feel the need to lord their subjective taste over others, who feel the need to lord their "superior standards" over others. Who feel the need to shit on people who enjoy certain shows (like SAO, and Shield Hero).
I was like that, I was worried about having "good taste" when I was a teenager. I consider seeking new horizons and not worrying about my taste or standards to be me growing up from that phase, and SAO will be a new step towards my goal of not caring what internet "consensus" herd mentality says I should watch and enjoy. I feel happier now than when I was constantly worried about my taste or standards or making sure I didn't enjoy the wrong shows and that I picked up the right shows to enjoy. And hey, SAO wouldn't be the worst hill I could die on. Anyone who knows me should already know I've been willing to die on far worse hills

After the fun but terrible Zi-O, my interest with Kamen Rider is revived again. I only finished Gaim and OOO among the Neo Heisei show before, I decided to visit them backward by watching Build first.
So far (around 30 episode-ish), it's unexpectedly good and coherent. The MC is very likable, the secondary Rider actually has an overarching arc with the overall plotline, and Gentoku/Rogue is simply too cool to hate: both outside and under the Rider suit.
hhmmm it seems future anime movies in the US besides Promare and Ghibli are Rascal movie, Konosuba movie, and the Tokyo Ghoul live action sequel?
Kill La Kill Episode 16: How this episode began is how all recaps should be. So Lifefibers are from outer space, and they've been manipulating humanity since the beginning. I never would have guessed that, but it does explain a lot.
