Airen, I don't wanna fight anymore. The freeform has reached a point of absurdity where it just feels like actions have become irrelevant and you can almost do whatever. It isn't really fun to brainstorm novel things to do in a fight when you have no feeling of boundaries to work within. It makes me feel burnt out (haha) to think about, and it hit me pretty definitively in the dream/inside-the-soul scene with future Suzume that it kind of wasn't enjoyable to actually be in an action scene, and I was relieved when it ended not because it felt tense, but because it just felt like a slog to do. The thought that I'm (supposedly) drawing close to the final boss just feels like a reason to not continue because I just don't feel like doing a fight.

The RP has certainly edged towards more of an open-shonen story type of thing as we neared the end (humans fight that way in this world), so I can understand your point of view since I'm sure I could have probably done it better with a few more restrictions. (All of the rule-books I've written since have been more heavy on that sort of thing) On that same hand I'm not entirely sure of how to rectify it at this point, and am reaching out to see the opinions of other players.

But yes, if you don't wish to fight, I won't force you to do so.

Talking your way through the rp is a perfectly valid (although I am aware it doesn't solve the core problem here) tactic.

I do want the RP to have some form of closure, and I kept letting characters come back after months of nothing, which is partially why I sped and streamlined things a bit, since players have been vanishing left and right I wanted to have a sort of 'ending' before everyone (perhaps even myself) vanished for one reason or another.

Seems to have had a few unintended side-effects, but lesson learned I suppose. If you wish to drop out, there's no hard feelings.

I took this long to mention it because it's clearly impossible to rectify at this point. The time between my first fight after the freeform switch (Belial) and my second fight (Suzume) was so long that the power escalation went bonkers and by the time it was my turn to take part in action at the new scale I realized it wasn't what I enjoyed, and I looked over and read some other players' fights(I know, hard to believe, but I did!), saw that their fights had the same elements that I find make writing out fights less fun, and started just relishing the SoL while it came. I doubt I'll drop, I still like the RP, but I definitely liked it more when occasionally action scenes popped up and they felt... exciting, I guess.
