    Using reference is really important in drawing especially in the beginning, also all artists use reference be it images, real life or memory, because you need to know what you are drawing and you can't draw what you don't know.

    Drawing from imagination won't work if you're a beginner.
    This might explain why don't the hands right.
    References will help for this, because this part is the most annoying one to draw right. (Bare feet is also annoying.)

    yeah hands are really hard because of there is fingers and so many joints, if you think about it like some mechanic thing it helps (at least for me) and hands are the most thing i use reference for and the easiest ref is your own hand because you can move it like you want and see it from any angle you need ! and practice makes perfect.
