I never showed Shirou killing Saber in the HF staffroll. I didn't even CONSIDER it. I showed Saber getting swallowed and becoming Alter because, that was a significant plot element in the route, so I thought not showing Alter would be weird. I have no idea where the Shirou killing Saber idea even started, but I think I've proved my point about misinterpretations.

About the HF staffroll. Ok so in the original FSN HF True was not just the ending to the Sakura Route, but also the whole game, so it had the main ED, which meant plain white credits. However in Realta Nua, the end to the whole game is Last Episode, and the main ED with the white credits plays there. So because of this, HF True was streamlined by having Turning Season play, flower petals falling (like the swords in Fate True and UBW True) and an oval image of Sakura like what Saber and Rin had.

This was all what TM did, but looking at it, I felt HF True's credits were now inferior to Fate and UBW True's because they didn't have a series of images from the routes passing by, so I went and made a bunch for HF (using only images from the original FSN to be fair) and put them into the staffroll.

And to clarify, as I said, I actually did show this to Sakura fans and say "hey, is there anything wrong with this or do you like it?" They liked it.

This was a really good change imo. It's really weird that TM didn't make sure to have all the three routes' credits be of equal quality in RN to begin with. Making HF's credits inferior is especially bad imo, since they were the final credits in the original version of the game.

Yes I'll admit that one. In my defense, I did that REALLY early on. Back when in my mind, this was just going to be a temp project and Waku Waku would finish his, so I thought that little change wouldn't go anywhere. When I was told by Waku Waku he was handing it over to me, I did kinda go ".....fuck" inside knowing about that one. However, nobody until you, who heard it from Koto, has said anything about it. And, if it really does bother people enough, I will get rid of it.

OG FSN is already pretty mainstream dood, I don't think anyone who gets into fate is going to find it easier to find a pirated RN copy than a pirated version of the original.

The original has just been out that much longer.

It's good that Koto keeps people informed of the things that you change from the source so they can be bothered in the first place. You probably shouldn't complain about it so much. It makes you sound like you want to get away with changes made in the dark without facing criticism

The original has only been "mainstream", and I use that term loosely, for a few years though. Yeah I agree, I don't see mine overtaking it, but by that same logic, most people playing it will have already touched the OG VN so this isn't an issue.

I don't mean that specific incident. People in general care a lot about how you change the VN, as you can see. It's just that they are often not fully aware of what you are doing.

For what it's worth, I vote that the Shinji-Sakura relationship be included in the Violence switch because next time I read RN I want to read it with H-scenes ON, but rapey stuff OFF.
Also, Jack, don't be discouraged by all the naysayers, your patch is fucking awesome.

I'm mostly just worried about the first playthrough, especially if you package the whole Shinji-Sakura thing with the same switch as "Oh it turns back on the blood and the cool stuff"

There's no real way to communicate what the Shinji-Sakura stuff means until you get to it without HUGE spoilers, and you're basically defacto choosing to make sure they see a particular version by linking it up with censorship, and in some cases it doesn't even make sense in context of the story.

I literally don't care past the first playthrough as by that point the spoilers are done and people are free to choose based on them

Violence and sex are two different animals for censorship, and different culture prioritize different ones, so I think those two should not be forced together. No I'm not going to make a switch for every line, but I feel that one for violence and one for sexual content is appropriate.

Right I agree, but giving it it's own switch is also silly. However I am going to communicate, very clearly, that this change is in that switch. Also Koto and I have a strategy worked out for the merge patch that might alleviate some of your concerns. Will reveal later when we have hammered out more details.

Side note: in the current version of the patch, that big spoiler changing flag is tied to the switch that says "this adds porn back in" so from that perspective you have to admit what I've done here is an improvement.
