And I don't care.
Ragnarok, come day of wrath
That fallen souls might bear our plea.
To hasten the Divine's return.
O piteous Wanderer.
You're assuming I keep up to date with this stuff, I'm not. I just played some of the games, only read a single post-RoTJ comic and film novelisation.
NASUVERSE STAMPEDE!!!
Honestly I prefer them just outright making it noncanon than messing it up like the novel and mmorpg.
"Ooh, look how threatening the Sith Emperor is! He needs thousands of Sith Lords and days of ritualing to do what Nihilus did by speaking. FEAR HIM!"
I'm not bitter at all about what they did with the Exile. Why do you ask?
Ragnarok, come day of wrath

O piteous Wanderer.
I'm an avid reader of the post-RotJ stuff, and I always figured they'd just ditch it too. The thing I'm more annoyed with is that by trying to do this whole "single continuity" thing, they're actually indefinitely shelving stuff that I was looking forward to and look like they're going to actively ignore that the majority of this stuff, which maintained a lot of the fanbase for years between the movie trilogies and all.
Basically I'm disappointed they're doing a DC reset rather than just letting the EU be the EU and letting the filmmakers do what they will and let the EU people do their own thing as they always have.
Localizationing stuff
Multiple stories/continuities I'm okay with, even if it messes up 'canon', if it's done right, eg. some of the various comic/movie adaptations over the years, since while they may all have a somewhat different slant on the characters, different variations on the origin story, etc., in the end, it still 'feels' like the same character. As much as you may consider there to be an official 'canon', the alternate continuity stories can still be enjoyed even if they don't tell the same story ultimately. However, in contrast, take for example, say, the Star Trek reboot... the characters (and the universe) seem too different and too jarring for me.
So... can't say I have any particularly high hopes for what may come.
What has already been made though, will still be around.
One must know the path one runs even if the ground underfoot is not as one chooses
The big reason to making games set in the ancient past non canon would be in case they want to have characters do a little history lesson. Having to go back and fact check a few very long games with a lot of text probably didn't sound like a lot of fun. Also dumping everything prevents them from having to deal with cherry picking anything they want or don't want, since there's no way they could make even a majority of Expanded Universe fans happy with that decision.
I'll miss you, Star Wars Podracing. You were too beautiful for this world.

Well of course you can't make them happy. I think at some level people who self-identify as "fans of the Star Wars Expanded Universe" must be inherently unhappy just because they self-identify as fans of the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
McJon01, please. I'm trying to learn how to be a more understanding person. Reminding me about how Wookiepedia must be burning to the ground in a furious edit war isn't helping.

So dirty casuals like me on average are not bothered too much?
[18:52] <@ecks> the other option is to not cover it
[18:52] <@ecks> and eventually die
[18:52] <@Lord_Emperor> They already killed Star Wars anyway, so why should we blame ourselves?
[18:52] <+Tyber> We have to cover it.
[18:53] <@Lord_Emperor> Go ahead, Tyber, you have your own wiki.
[18:53] <@ecks> I'd rather have Wookieepedia thrive rather than die
[18:53] <@Lord_Emperor> Not much thriving after the death of the EU. Nearly 80%+ of our articles stem from the EU.
[18:54] <@IFYLOFD> Yeah, now
[18:54] <@IFYLOFD> That isn't gonna be the case much longer
[18:54] <@ecks> I'm not going to let Wookieepedia become an abandoned wiki of 110,000 articles
[18:54] <@ecks> because that's what it'll become if we don't cover the new content
[18:54] <+Tyber> Ignoring it won't help, Jang.
[18:54] <@Lord_Emperor> LFL can blame itself. They should know that such bullshit decisions would wreck their fanbase
[18:54] <@IFYLOFD> Jang, chill
[18:55] <@Lord_Emperor> Lmfao, go fuck yourself
[18:55] <@Lord_Emperor> I will not chill because half of my life and dedication to SW was thrown away
Schadenfreude at max levels. Excuse me while I go relieve myself.

Is the Wookiie quote supposed to be some kinda oblique statement on the matter?
"People who alter or destroy works of art and our cultural heritage for profit or as an exercise of power are barbarians [...]."
