And because I can’t think of any possible way that Luke being gay makes the story better. And because Rey is a Mary-Sue. And because the Force doesn’t belong to everyone.

Luke isn’t gay though? Or rather he isn’t anything, or he’s whatever you want him to be because Luke’s sexuality has no bearing on the plot outside of noting that as a Jedi he is, of course, while not necessarily bound to celibacy per se he is forbidden from having emotional attachments so unless you can see Luke knocking some girl up on a one night stand probably no kids in his future yeah?
I read somewhere that one of the writers decided on it. It might have been Abrams, but I don’t think so. That’s not the name I remember in relation to that memory. I might be getting mixed up about something else. But I say everything else with firm certainty.

Didn’t mark Hamill devise a back story for Luke that involved him hooking up with a war widow and having a relationship with her for a while till an accident caused them to split up following the death of her son (from a previous marriage( and the writers were like “sure mark, whatever helps you stay in character dude”
him being gay sounds like one of those rogue bits of fanon that everyone swears they heard someone else say
It's interesting to note that in a somewhat recent issue of the Star Wars comic line "Age of Rebellion", there was a plot centred around Palpatine trying to Force break Luke's mind into running away and becoming a hermit. Luke even sees a vision of him on an Achtoo lookalike planet with his X-Wing in the water etc.
Makes you think. Were they testing the waters for Palpatine being involved in Luke's fall perhaps???

We are still far far of a story about a Force user that can change between Light and Dark at will or is lore-wise impossible?
I mean, this is Disney Star Wars so they can do what they like lore-wise now that they own it, but in George Lucas' vision things like a "Gray Jedi" that can use both Light and Dark were always nonsensical.
