[I wish it were. As a villain motivation, "I really want to fuck Rey" sounds way more grounded than "OUT WITH THE OLD LET'S FUCKING SET THE WORLD ON FIRE"]
[I'm pretty sure the Snoke thing was supposed to be climactic but I found it ridiculous. The imperial guard fight was cool but the story point itself was delivered horribly.]
[Same thing with the final thing with Kylo and Luke. The duel itself is cool, the problem is that to me, it's impossible to see the First Order as anything but a bunch of clowns and Kylo as anything other than a petulant child.]
[Snoke's criticism of Kylo in the beginning is both totally on point, and still true as of the film's ending.]
[Don't even get me started on Phasma the non-character. The fact that she was highlighted in the trailer was so very cynical.]
[I've been disappointed in SW movies before, but this is the first time I storm out of the theater in anger at the start of the ending credits.]
[I think the scriptwriters shot themselves in the foot by setting the film in the literal three days following the end of TFA.
The "classic" Lucasfilms epics like OT and Indy have have always been distinctively structured as a succession of largely independent set pieces. TLJ clumsily weaves a bunch of not very good story threads and the result is a formless, tiring, jumble.]
[Also, I was not in the Rey=Mary Sue camp before this movie, but I'm starting to change my mind. I think the turning point was Yoda's "she already knows all that shit" speech.]
[The humor bits were mostly good, although again, the First Order being nothing but a bunch of clowns really undermines them as antagonists.]
