Rather than overpowered, given everything that Shirou is up against the UBW Good End feels more like the only ending where he has anything resembling a fighting chance of making a difference (barring the one he just made by stopping the Grail from blowing everything up).

Isn't Saber massively depowered without the grail to support her? I don't think annihilating armies is in the playbook anymore unless Rin precedes it with a ten or fifteen-person orgy. For that matter the prana drain on Rin from supporting Saber means she's probably not doing so hot either.

Real body, plus technically the Grail is still around to support her. Like Gil after the 4th. Plus we already know that Saber is not the average Servant in regards to mana, she only needs the jump, the battery inside her does the rest.

Oh right, databooks and dragon bullshit. I'm pretty sure her body isn't real in the same sense that Gil's is real though. Gil got dunked in the grail mud and Gaia doesn't give a shit about him any more. Saber still disappears when her prana runs out.

Saber has a real bad hit rate for Grail targeting. First she hits the Lesser Grail. Then she hits the opening made by the Lesser Grail. You'd think her AoE would be good for inclusion.

So that's why it's so familiar! I had forgotten you were the one who wrote that snippet, and just thought there was a sudden rash of Exalted fics going on in the last few weeks.

....Alright, I'm sold. By this snippet and the inspiration/world building. This sounds awesome and in a very refreshing flavor.

I especially like how Shinji went out with a bang, and bitching about how at least Shirou was fucking up too. Great black humor.

And I love how Shirou's unique inner world and mentality is being explored here. This story, if it ever gets that far, is going to become real interested when Shirou starts making his own progeny. I wonder, is he going to have the voice in his head too? Unwoven Coadjutor or something? Doesn't sound like it, but it also has some potential. It would shape the entire story by necessity though.

Everyone getting Exaltations is pretty amusing though. Lots of potential. Saber exalting within the hour is gold, although I wonder what happens to the dragon she has locked up within her. Which is an interesting thought, that she was technically some kind of dragon or dragon-blooded, and then Exalted. Wouldn't the dragon get nommed or fueled into more Essence, or something similar? Saber may bust right past the Essence 5 cap from the word go, hard coded limit be damned, just because of that dragon screwing it all up.

I wonder if Rin is the Lunar mate to Saber, Shirou, or someone else.

I'm also reminded of old ideas of Gilgamesh being a Solar and Enkidu being his Lunar mate. Alas, would not fit and is so awesome it deserves its own story.

Really interested in finding out where this will go though. It sounds like a wild ride.
