food's forum suicide was a lot less spectacular. He was a moonruner and one of the most active holders of powerlevel knowledge on the forum.

For some reason he wanted to quit the forums (studies, fatigue, idk) and didn't get his ban granted, so he started randomly being a dick to people. Then got banned for it, but permanently.

Now he sockpuppets every now and then, posting lore tidbits that get lost whenever one of his accounts gets deleted.

Actually I don't think he asked for a ban beforehand, I mean Seika was given a ban upon request, arai even had like two of his accounts deleted. I think he just shitposted because he was too prideful to ask for a ban.

People asking for ban have no self discipline. But I guess that's a given if you're on BL with a post count of >1000.

Who is the founder of BL? When was it founded? Was it only Tsukihime at the time?
It's kind of awesome having such a large community of Nasuverse. Heck there are even CV girls in a forum founded on eroge.

BL was founded in 2003 by Evospace. It was at the time, used as an English forum for Melty Blood. At the time Revolve Translations and another group that I can't remember off the top of my head, were both translating Tsukihime and Melty Blood so most people talked on their forums. When Revolve and the other group merged it became mirror-moon.

However, it attracted a wider audience in 2004 when FSN and hollow were released. This was when arai, a weird captain guy, and a bunch of other people joined the forum.

Evospace used to be a huge user of the forum but he stopped coming as much since he started working at Mangagamer and in Japan.

Correction I called Bitersweet CV before I knew it.

I kept telling people that she's CV, nobody believed me and then CV told me that he was her and that I should stop doing that at every corner. (and i still get warned for not telling people, this is true injustice)

Also you can't talk about CV without brining up the CV shuffle, that must have been legitimately the greatest act of trolling in BL history.

"She" was actually a very popular user. The account has like >1000 VMs.

Mike and Bittersweet has a 400+ VM conversation.

This chain is actually hilarious even without the knowledge that Bittersweet is C_V.

Bittersweet was "designed" to fuck with Mike mainly, but since females get creeped on really fast on nerd forums he had to actually expand his spectrum.

Oh yeah, hollow was 2005. I wrote that post while I seriously had to take a shit and ran off without editing anything. Anyway I thought it was only fair to mention the new Beast Lair's history.

The original Beast's Lair was on proboards. However when proboards changed their guidelines to 'NO PORNOGRAPHY ALLOWED' and wanted us to delete the entire Fanfiction board as well as a bunch of non pornography RPs within several days, we immediately began trying to save all the threads in the Fanfics board. However, when RK told us about a nifty program which saves every single page on a website it caused about four or five users to begin downloading fucking everything. This angered proboards as we were severely hampering bandwidth and they decided to terminate the account immediately. Cue a 3 or 4 day hole up in irc where we tried sorting everything out and decided to make a new forum, which is where Evo came in and said he was friends with dovac, the server owner for moe.imouto, tlwiki, and a bunch of sites.

So the owner of this specific forum is DP, he holds the forum license. dovac however owns the server that we use. And Evo is technically the first admin (he's user 1), or something. And Kotonoha and tobias are the ones who bought the forum license for DP.

Petri post about the CV shuffle you have a better recollection of the chain of events than I have.

In March, 4 months before Bittergate, Bittersweet was active on BL as well as Dark Side of the Moon (Mike's forum after getting banned).

After what must've been a really drunk evening, C_V accidentally logged onto his Bittersweet account on DSotM using his actual IP adress, and since he'd been a member as C_V on that forum with that very IP Mike actually discovered this sudden mix-up and banned Bittersweet on DSotM.

Eventually knowledge of this got out on BL and in quick motions Bittersweet was, after a few IRC conversations between Mike and DP, eventually banned on BL as well.

Quickly, C_V made a sockpuppet on DSotM called Bíttersweet and then flooded the site with random sockpuppets so that it wasn't discovered in the recently joined section. He then contacted Mike as Bittersweet and claimed that C_V had tried to get Bittersweet banned by using this sockpuppet to make Mike think the real Bittersweet was C_V. He also contacted DP with the same information, which ended up getting Bittersweet quickly unbanned on BL. Some blog posts from the time: 1 2 3

Though Mike was very stubborn about this, he did eventually apologize and unban Bittersweet on DSotM after communal pressure got too high (remember, Bittersweet was pretty popular). This ridiculous behaviour (though as we later found out, actually justified) did little to help Mike's reputation and as you can see from the 2 and 3 blogpost, C_V was essentially on a mission to ruin it personally.

So in this manner, C_V turned a drunk accident into a masterstroke of trolling which further destabilized Mike.

A girl moonrune reader(?). Occasionally posts in GD, however, mostly posted in Seventh (was friends with lilith, Sei, and all them), RPs, and other boards Cruor does not go to. Actually, now that I think of it I don't think I've seen her in awhile.

Mike hates CV, CV just took him to be a prime target. That's about it.

Shuffle was already done by Petri. I actually forgot to put it lol. I think I explained it in one of the numerous threads/blogs about 'WAIT BITTERSWEET WAS CV?'.

Nahash was a user who join in October 2008 (though, it is to my understanding that he lurked for awhile). Was known for being a bit of a troll (rather, not a troll but just a dick) when outside of GD and AMG (which were his primary boards). Had a huge love of Roa. That is not to say he didn't 'troll' there too, for instance the infamous 'Sakura, Rin, or Saber!' thread (a thread, which was not made by him, about which girl in the end was most suited for Shirou, or something) he caused a 200 page shitstorm, and is claimed by Mike as the reason Nerroth stopped visiting BL as much.

He was known for his very extravagant posting style (he is the one that made the Yanderekology thing) and made huge confusing texts over small things. Here's a good description:

See, when Esgalia made the big announcement that he was quitting the Caption Contest, a bunch of people tried to pick it up. One of them was Nahash, and while Esgalia and me tried to keep the content funny, but not too disturbing or perverse, kind of like Bill Cosby as opposed to, say, Chris Rock, Nahash would just put up the most revolting, disturbing parts of the OVAs/visual novels/anime/whatevrs. One that stuck in my mind was when he screenshotted Alba playing with Touko's severed head, which I think was when I said: "OK, that's it, to prevent soemthing like this from happening again, I'm going to take over."

Not that at the time where I revived the thread much was going on. It had been dead for a while then.

Anyway, I initially thought he was banned after he made a huge post insulting a fanfic writer for being a horrid writer (almost literally in those terms, everyone else was going 'you need an editor/need to work some more' and he just went 'you fucking suck' or something). But it turned out that was not it (which I guess shows how lax the rules around here were at the time) but something that was posted a few days later. However, according to RB and Uber the real reason was he was a very popular user, with a huge following and a lot of charisma which was creating a lot of disorder.

That was funny. I remember thinking TW and tang were banned once when they occasionally went haywire and deleted their avatars.

Then Kotonoha went and made a protest and a bunch of people deleted their avatars and chnaged their user title to banned causing the red names to appear for banned users. I miss colored user titles.
