NO.
This isn't Poke Wars.

Oh, you know, that Pokemon fanfic series where almost everything can (and most probably will) kill you? Go Google it.
And yes, I know what happens to that dog. I wouldn't be writing this fic if I didn't.
I think the reason I was underwhelmed was your AN at the beginning of the chapter. It made me think something heart-rendingly horrible was going to happen, and then those lyrics kept popping up, and then...the dog gets thrown out.
I had too much time and warning I spent expecting far worse for the actual gut punch to have an effect.
Remind me not to spoil the fic on my ANs.
Gosh, everytime I try to hit the mark, I miss and fail spectacularly.
If it's one of those terrible ones that make the world "darker and edgier" with Ash's "full name" being Ashura, then no.
Even then I don't go looking for dark and edgy Pokemon fics; thing similar to PokeSpec are good in my books, as is this fic and those like it, but I'm rather picky otherwise.
I don't read bad Ashura's wrath fics, thank you very much.
It was a darker fic, but Ash is just Ash, not someone with a black pikachu or things like that.
The world is darker and edgier, that much is true, but mostly because the pokemon are actually dangerous, and it follows to some degree the pokedex descriptions of some of them. A human isn't going to survive a fucking Thunder, or Fireblast.
Spoiler:
Eh, in Pokespec pokemon kill things. I remember Giovanni's Scyther killing some other pokemon.
In this fic, if a Charizard chomps your head, he is going to crush it, not just give you a bite. And if he breaths fire on you... well, it's not going to be pretty.
But no, no Ashura here. Ash is Ash.
Spoiler:
I don't think a "darker and edgier" Pokemon world where we're at the mercy of a yellow rat should exist, since humans should also have evolved to have natural resistances against Pokemon. If that were true, then that world would invalidate the very existence of the main games.

It was Blue's and the Arbok it killed was Koga's, which unfortunately didn't last long because it had the power to fucking regenerate.
There is. I don't want to spoil too much, but bassically, humans are attuned to certain types of pokemon. That's why, by example, Brock uses just rock type pokemon, and things like that.
And of course, technology and weapons. A bolt or a bullet to the head is as likely to kill a human that to kill most pokemon.
Spoiler:
More like I was talking about a different scene. He was saying that, it wasn't Giovanni's Scyther, it was Blue's.
Spoiler:
God, my PokeSpe-fu is horrible.

But here is what I do know:
Spoiler:
My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.
*Tips his hat*
Well done, IRUn!
Although I'd say that Nuclear Consensus post can be taken as "Humans should have learned to defend against those things", or at least that's what I got.
