Personally I think especially in murrika where the entire anime scene exists in this size and profitability provably only because piracy is a thing the kind of crusading at play is a bit silly. But at least Aniplex isn't like Crunchyroll and actually the subsidiary of a legitimate company so the hypocrisy is a bit less stinging.

Really, just apply common sense guys, don't post clips and full rips. We're going to be the ones in trouble then. Just make the one necessary turn, link to the thread on another forum where it's linked at or an imgur album and you're already doing us a favor.

The images are not hosted on bl, last image posted is hosted on gyazo. Are we simply not allowing img tags. And no i don't expect him to support piracy, but unless there has been a bl staff change, i don't believe it's his place to say what people can or can't do outside of reminding them about the official rules. Or has bl stopped being the site where people discuss datamined go data?

If we are threatened like this we have to respond adequately, as it is we still hash out the exact policy now that this is a problem. In the end we have to choose what will make the site run even if we don't personally like what's happening.

End of the day there is so much that can and can’t be done. If someone links a torrent for the movie or starts hawking their cam rip, that can be knocked out. Sleezy video links, even just a few frames, we can go the extra mile on.

if you are gonna expect we are going to knock out every static image, you might want to brace for disappointment though.

We can ask that kind of thing be left off site, but quite frankly, I doubt we actually have the ability to stamp it out entirely.

Look I'm not actually going to go after people posting screencaps, but its just something I wish people thought a little bit more about, because it comes up on this very thread all the time: "wah wah nothing's showing near me, whyyyyy" and then you have news about how Prisma's movie was pulled from theaters in certain countries because of security issues. HMMM I WONDER WHY THEY'RE RELUCTANT WITH RELEASING THINGS

I don't think Aniplex would care much about horribly shot screen caps with crappy cameras. People like ufo for their visuals, so I doubt a full rip would even remotely affect their theatrical or their physical box revenue, and-

...maybe some countries do deserve to be blacklisted.

For real though, i'd rather people quietly used their crappy mobile cameras than to be loud and obnoxious during the movie. This is just me, though.

People were quiet at the theater I went to. Excluding the laughing at comedy scenes, ooohing at Gilgamesh at the church, and one girl yelling OTP when Shirou visited Kotomine at the mapo tofu scene.

Aside from people laughing and whistling at the mapo tofu scene and clapping when Saber destroyed Rider, my showing was pretty quiet too. I'd say outside of the hype of a major premiere movies here wouldn't be that loud.
