After reading various of your reviews here, there's an "issue" that never fails to be posted: the unnecessarily long Lancer vs. True Assassin fight.

After thinking more about the movie, the more I'm disappointed with it. Hate to say it but way too much time was spent on establishing Sakura's character and her relationship with Shirou. Shinji is still poorly defined, what with people in the audience getting the impression that he's gay for Shirou and that's about it. Illya needed the scene where she and Shirou met after he bought groceries to be more than the psycho loli.

Forgive ufotable, they didn't raise enough flags for Sakura. Most of the flags went to Rin and Saber. Saber even had anime - only flags that happened. AND THAT'S UBW.

Sakura had only like three or 4 flags raised. Illya got it even worse, having hers at one or three.

They must start somewhere to kick off the route and establish it as Sakura's route.

Yeah, I thought Cu's Olympic sprinting was pretty funny.

And I don't really see the criticism of it not establishing the personalities of characters other than Shirou and Sakura that well. I think it's pretty fair to say that the movie expects you to already be familiar with the events of UBW (because that's how the VN was written).

What are the chances of ufotable putting in extended/new scenes in the BD release? I very much know how they do the BD releases for TM TV series, but not for movies as far as extra footage is concerned. IIRC Sudou said he wanted to trim Presage Flower from a 2 1/2 hour movie to a 2 hour movie, and so he talked with his editor...

That aside, lol at the choice of "poster art" Marcus Theaters (the chain that owns the St. Louis area Ronnies, among several other theaters) has for Presage Flower:

Interesting commentary from director Tomonori Sudou on the prospect of adapting Heaven's Feel's more sexually explicit scenes.

Glad he pushing for the original scenes. God bless him. Its a better story with them and their implications in.

tbh I wasn't paying attention to the music. I'd need the OST or another viewing to give any idea about that. From passive remembrance, it was fine.

TBH I'd rather have all the "boring" character-building scenes as opposed to extending the fight scenes for no reason other than to have longer fight scenes.

Fukasawa's BGM felt Hollywood af. I'd rather have him working on HF instead of Chorusura.

Exactly why I'd rate 90% of his UBW tracks between 4/10 and 6/10.
