Currently (like, actually) finishing Apocrypha 3
I watched the movie... it's glorious...
First time watched an ufotable movie in big screen, I feel very satisfied
That being said, the pace is too fast for my tastes...
The movie is amazing. Action scenes are neat, SoL is just perfect, exposition is handled exceptionally well. I feel like presage flower alone is better at showing Shirou's trauma than the entire UBW anime. At least it beats first cour easily.
I have no idea how to properly adapt Part II but there's a lot of room for improvement (the VN is a bloated mess).
Giant spiders/10
In my cinema, every music in the fight played very loud and the SoL barely have music in it. Yeah that's probably my main complaint

The movie is being shown for the first (and only, it seems) time in my country next month on the 28th. Very excited to see it, especially on the big screen.
I have never regretted being a weeb in Portugal more...
burn your dread you coward
Oh God no.
I'm going to Taiwan next week and will be watching the movie there for the first time -- I noticed that they offer the 4DX version of the movie on the same date with Japan (February 3)... I wonder if its worth it to watch the 4D version or the normal 2D version? for the record I've never watched a 4D movie before except in Universal Studios for some gimmicky Ice Age short

idk this will help you, but the only movie that I watched in 4D is Fate of The Furious. It was worth it because the movie is all about the action, getting the cars thrown away like pebbles, so the shaking and sound effects are utilized wonderfully, or having guns fired next to your ears, oh the flame smells is nice too. So, I guess it will be fun when you reach the Lancer vs Assassin fight.
But it kinda distracting if you wanted to immerse on storytelling, so if you aren't planning to watch it again I rather not 4D, considering how story focused Fate are

Yep
I always find it weird that people think Gil went down like a bitch.
Like, the CG of Sakura being cut up doesn't do it justice. He Gate of Babyowned her so hard her arms and legs were only stitched together by sinew, her intestines were on the ground as the upper half of her body flopped like a beached whale, and then when after salvos of GOB wasn't working, he golf clubbed her head off her shoulders with a giant hammer.
I think the scene shows his dominance well enough. I mean, it even said her internal organs didn't heal even with AM driving her on autopilot and only the outside looked patched up.
Gil got eaten due to hubris, but really, you could show the original scene as it was and it would be enough to illustrate that he is strong. I guess Nasu could advise him to show Gil trying to escape as she digests him like a 7-Eleven burrito that won't go down right, but really, would that wouldn't illustrate strength imo, given she is literally regressed to a childlike state at that point from damage?
I mean hell, her wounds didn't actually heal until she accepted AM and they started to fully merge as one, she walked across town to the Matou residence with holes in her heart and limbs held together by mana.
Outside of AM, she has pretty good endurance herself. Sudou is good with details, so getting the point across that what is happening to her, body and soul, should be interesting, or at least get it across better to the audience.

Spoiler:
He did get to talk though, he basically was all "why u no dying zasshu" and about his plans to use her (or rather AM) to genocide mankind, but that he should be the one to pick who lives or dies and blahblahblah. So he got enough soapboxing, tore her apart, and after all that, then was devoured. So it wasn't that quick.
Nasu even implied that she had to deal with not only him doing all that and a night of agony, but him angrily trying to get out. That should be more than enough.
I mean, he literally got melted faster in Zero, actually not being able to do anything, and only got his body back because he rolled a charisma check.
This time, the charisma check didn't do him any good. Hell, it swallowed him in UBW that quickly too.
The scene did his strength justice, while also illustrating that a compatible vessel that is backed by the main body of the curse, not just mud, is powerful.
They are also taking questions for Nasu & Takuechi like UBW
