No matter how you look at it, more anime getting subbed (and in a timely manner to boot!) is a good thing. It sucked when a show you wanted to watch didn’t get subbed, or the subs were extremely slow. The current climate is an amazing change from the time when you had 5 different subs for popular shows but less popular ones remained unsubbed. The problem is just that official subs often put the bare minimum effort into the subs themselves. And of course, just because they’re official subs doesn’t necessarily mean the translation is any better than any random fansub either.
By "4chan subber', you meant whoever did the subs for the camrip, right?
Did any expositional scenes in particular stick out to you subtitle-quality-wise? I remember having trouble following some of what Kirei was saying right after Shirou/Sakura's sex scene in the official subs, which became a bit clearer to me in the fansubs. Aside from that.... What litle bit I recall from the scenes I browsed in the camrip, I noticed little that pointed to the fansubs' favor, unless you count seemingly extra edginess in language (thinking of Shinji's last scene alive) as a plus.
From what I can remember, the Kirei scene was probably the biggest culprit. But even then, parts of Zouken's explanation and even some of Shirou's monologue in the rain felt like it could have been worded in a way that's simpler and easier to read/understand. Pretty sure at one point, Shinji was using the word "obscene" to describe sex, who the hell says that? Plus, I think the official subs were too liberal in a few scenes which got rid of some of the subtlety of the original dialogue but that's just hard nitpicking at this point.
Sasuga Aniplex ...Though, I'd rather read "obscene" in the subtitles for the Shinji scene if the alternative was "lewd"; I just can't take "lewd" seriously thanks to how much of a meme word it is in weeb vernacular.
And speaking of Shinji...
In Heaven's Feel's, er, film continuity (the Fate/cinematic universe?), how far exactly does Shinji's role as an abuser of Sakura extend, and does it extend only so far in correlation to Sakura's status as the abused?
Spoiler:
TL;DR I don't know if koto's son Shinji ultimately misbehaved as badly in the Fate/Cinematic Universe (or maybe just the Heaven's Feel Cinematic Universe?) as he did in the original visual novel.
I can't imagine how anyone would interpret it as the first time, it's blatantly stated by both characters that it's not.
汚らわしい/けがらわしい/filthy; unfair; dirty; untouchable; disgusting; nasty; foul; odious; repulsive
Most people don't describe sex like this but he's not actually describing sex
I remember the VN translation went with "dirty" which has a way too positive connotation in a sexual context

That, and in the original, she didn't snap just because he was trying this, since it showed how she knew Shirou would accept her regardless, and she says so.
It was the fact he wouldn't stop there, that he was planning to ruin her anyway even if she acquiesced, by ruining her relationship with Shirou however he could since he had lost it completely at that point.
Like I thought, it was a two-months old commentary that threw me off. Thanks Inu
Oh wait did I misinterpret the semantics of that months-old post, and thought the "change" Inu was talking about applied to the movie, not the Realta Nua version? I honestly thought Inu was saying the movie had it as Shinji's first attempt.
Ahhh....
With how I've long interpreted Shinji as some quasi-wannabe aristocrat, him using "obscene" to describe "intercourse" didn't seem so off-kilter.
And then there's how on a personal level, the usage of these more formal terms is somehow less cringe-worthy to read in his scene. /shrug/
Inu is kinda wrong on a few things, since I pointed out the various things driving her at that point (besides the literal two weeks of mental and physical torture of her soul).Oh wait did I misinterpret the semantics of that months-old post, and thought the "change" Inu was talking about applied to the movie, not the Realta Nua version? I honestly thought Inu was saying the movie had it as Shinji's first attempt.
Ahhh....
For Realta Nua iirc, its rewritten that Shinji is more pressuring her, to live vicariously through her as a magus, and (badly imo) trying to establish a non sexual version of the relationship, but still containing the spirit of him taking out his frustrations on her.
That said, Sudou likely just did a redux version where the two scenarios are semi-mixed, but while trying to keep it like the original in that the sexual abuse is still a thing. So the movie is supposed to be like the original.
Plus, the second wrong thing Inu went on about her fighting back doesn't take into account how damaged her body is, since in the original, when she turned, her injuries and damage completely healed. The original scene had her trying to find Zouken and the old bum hid away. Shinji then bashed her in the head from behind and took her to her room where things played out, but she is still heavily injured at this point(its not made apparent in the movies or VN, but Rin does tell you in both that she just looks patched up from the outside).
So she walked across town with stitched up severed limbs and mashed together organs that only healed up once she got the blackening. Now that I think about it, they probably should have made that more apparent. So the movie didn't really show that well.
Screening premium on april 6th in my city
But now im scared they gonna censor it or whatevs
Meh, I'm just gonna wait for the usual with normal price ticket

Shitaya had some bretty qt commentary on Chaldea Radio regarding americans being loud in the theater, seems like she really enjoyed herself. She was especially amused by people doing suggestive whoops during the sex scene lol.
oh and apparently Miura did Herc vs Saber

Aww, that's sweet, I just.... hope she gets that movie theater crowds aren't that obnoxious 99% of the time.
I thought it was a bit weird to get laughter at some parts in the theater, such as the blood sucking scene (was that a scene meant to be played for humor?) or Sakura's shock at the arrival of Shirou's "harem" of Rin and Illya right after he lost his arm (okay, that really was funny in a not-so-awkward way)... but seeing some other people's experiences, maybe I lucked out. The audience was dead silent during the "sex scene", which btw I kind of feel like putting in quotation marks because it seems to almost do it a big disservice? It's more that it's a scene with some sex in it than a Sex Scene, for starters.
Hasn't Miura pretty much been the one behind all the direction for the action scenes since Presage Flower? (IIRC a lot of people on BL dunked on Herc for all his Saber-slam dunking in the UBW anime, but honestly, screw the lore, that was fun to watch.) Miura's involvement was not really surprising.
Now as for what IS surprising?
That UNTIL NOW APPARENTLY, we haven't gotten Fate/stay night bedtime garments before... that invokes the designs of the fated ones we spend a night with in the VN.
Shirou going "Can I... help you?" like he was straight out of a porno was hilarious.
Herk landscaping with Saber was great. Saber walking it off without a single scratch was not.(IIRC a lot of people on BL dunked on Herc for all his Saber-slam dunking in the UBW anime, but honestly, screw the lore, that was fun to watch.) Miura's involvement was not really surprising.
Her endurance must be like EX, i thought it's just to make saber great again after Saber's poor performance in first half and near the end of fate zero, but it was not

Herc throwing upper half of a tower and some big pillars to Alter and just excalibur herc away was wow
