Yeah, there is enough time in the last movie to cover the entirety of the story until the conclusion.

Yes, I think, they can even cover some infodump that they missed if they want.
Personally I'm still in doubt the movies are a good substitute for actually reading the route yourself, at least after seeing 2 movies. Depending on how impactful the fistfight with Kirei is (imo its one of the most important scenes in the entire story), it could match the VN but I don't think you can ever replace the power of narration the VN had.

that goes for any part of the VN to be fair, but i think on pure avoidance of cringe factor, HF in particular is in a better position as an adaption to stand tall on its own merits and not have to feel like your missing anything overly substantive.
This is true for any VN adaptation, even Steins;Gate isn't replacing the VN, even if it's so close to it.
The problem is, people have to recognize that a different medium can show things in it's own way that most of the audience wouldn't notice or pay attention to, and that's totally ok, the biggest recent example is how Hassan talks.
I think both have their merits, they are in different formats and aim to do something different. I feel like the VN is as if, let's say, I experience something wonderful for a week and the movies on the other side are pictures I took at key moments of my week. The movies are like that for me, when someone unaware of the contents see them, they're excited but when you know the full content behind it's even better. It's okay if everything isn't in the movie, because I'm not watching it to tell I've experienced 100% of HF, I also want to see it because it does something the VN doesn't, which is giving life to it and giving it beautiful art and animation. So yeah, for me each one has its strength and only together they can reach something higher.
The movie should use its advantages of its own medium to cover things that the Visual Novel narration couldn't cover, use anime technique to make narrative more powerful, even makes things better. that's not all however I don't know how to express them themselves so I hope you have a grasp of what i'm trying to convey and I'm curious how did Lost Butterfly done that.
well its fine to say that the movies are a cliffnotes version of the VN, but my main point was that in the way its been adapting the content, it goes about it in a much better way than the VN did in either censored or uncensored incarnation, and that's important

Don't worry, you and all those who don't like sex will still get tons of Fate material without any sex because it stars generic harem leads with no clue or sex drive whatsoever, constantly avoiding the attentions of allegedly restless haremettes now literally counting in the hundreds and any of which could easily have their way with them if they really wanted to.
Leave the rest of people to just have a single freaking old fashioned sex scene for a last time in peace, because it's not like this will ever happen again, anyway. Not with Current Type-Moon.

Don't really get the recent outcry about the sex present in the film. Not only would it be natural for it to be included considering the nature of the source material but all the recent impressions have stated that they are really quite tame compared to the blatant pornographic content from the VN (and the manga). It's like having a hissy fit over Jack and Rose's love scene from Titanic.
It's Puritan outcry honestly.

But apparently on tumblr, most of the people complaining about it are jealous about rin/shirou not doing it. I haven't seen many people talk about it in general though (and that's just judging from someone else's post)
