Every rerun gets easier than the original since you usually have the CEs already, plus any QoL changes they made along the way, and all the leveling/roster changes you might have had along the way. Honestly, while I can see why reruns can be a letdown when you only want new content, I like having downtime where I can just go low attention on the game and get mats and goodies from it. Which most reruns are.

The problem with this rerun IMO is that it takes a lot of ladder climbing to get all the 4* fous, even if you need very little else from the event. So either you grind like hell just to keep up with completionism or you take it easy and give up on maxing out your servants.

But once you give up on completionism than it becomes psychologically easier to drop the game entirely, like Arha. I'm getting pretty close myself, but I can't bring myself to quit outright until I spend most of my 900+ quartz stock on someone I like.

Thing is that you don't need to care about over half the shop. Only bought one thing with gold, might grab two of the silver items, the pretty much all of the bronze.

Unfortunately, I need all the mats except roots and lanterns.

I don't mind being an event or two behind on 4* Fous since I don't really see what the rush is in doing it as fast as possible. The Servant is still going to be there in two months just waiting to be fed the items. So, while boring, I just take reruns as my chance to stock up on what needs to be stocked up on while I play casually and play other things.

I just use natural regen AP 95% of the time, I don't grind like hell so I won't get burnt out

I mean, don't get me wrong, getting all the stuff in a ladder gets grindy, and yeah, can be a pain if you wanna go the completionist route. But we still don't have the dedicated point nodes, only the story timed stuff, and I'm still more than a third of the way through one ladder. And it's only been three days, with me just using natural AP as I go. It's not an unreasonable grind, unlike some other games I know.

Also, come on; easy to get or farm mats, EXP, QP, and usually decent BP bounty. Even with reruns there's benefits for everyone.

Completionism is an addictive feeling, especially for when a player has started to lose interest in a longrunning game in general; but unlike most addictions, it really loses potency once it breaks even once. This is why most mobage have consecutive login-in bonuses to incentivize players to keep playing every single day. Keeping up with everyone else who was maxing out their first servant helped motivate me for grinding through the Setsubun/Valentine period. But I've basically given up on maxing out a second servant, which just makes it easier for me to skip entire events if I don't feel like playing, which leads to feeling more and more comfortable with just dropping the game altogether.

(In case I wasn't clear earlier, when I say it's a problem I mean for the game's developers/publishers, who care about player retention. I don't feel bad about the fact that I'm spending less time per day on this event than I did on Kogetsukan, even though I fast-forwarded through all the scenes in that.)

Oh come on, the farm rates for everything in this are really average by event standards, nothing to get excited over (if you already have the welfare servant and thus most of the value from the event). It's a far cry from raffle events, mission events, or something like the Apo raids with their insane QP rates. I see no reason to care about possibly getting my 299th great knight medal, my 962nd void dust, etc.

It's a far cry from raffle events, mission events, or something like the Apo raids with their insane QP rates. I see no reason to care about possibly getting my 299th great knight medal, my 962nd void dust, etc.

It's kind of unfair to compare it to raffles, basically the best events to grind, or with the Apo raid which again, has been one of the most generous with drops. The ladder system is pretty much the same as the mission one, except you can just spam one quest over and over, while missions at least vary things up. But reward-wise? Those two are the same. And call it average, but the farm rates are better than outside events.

And hey, if you have so many mats with no shortage, and no one to spend it on...well, sorry. Meanwhile, I need hundreds of various mats on top of QP for people I wanna level, but at least QP farming is sorta guaranteed. And you ignore shop mats, which while limited, are still a blessing to have.
