I was gonna say, am I missing something? The trailer sure didn't seem like it's related to WW2 at all, it just happens to be set in 1945. I was wondering if I was missing something since I don't speak Japanese.

Well, New Life's problem is actually the author. The novel itself doesn't make it clear, but he had to add that the two countries he talks about in novel is China and Korea and the MC actually killed thousands of Chinese during the war and gets to live it out. When confronted with the event by the publisher, he lied and denied everything until it becomes too late. It's like selling a glorified piece of Nazi literature to Israel and the rest of the world by a German.

Haha, it never came across to me that Okita would be an Aoshi reference. She's already full on Soujiro as is, and with FGO, a bit of Saito (though technically it was Hijikata's so it makes sense she'd have it)

Her being retconned from being Nobukita has had a huge negative effect on her hype factor for me since Nobu is the half of that pair that I like more.
