Huh, I always thought that Shuten's np effects made it more useful than Cleo's raw damage.

At least I liked using her more because of that anyway.

Her debuff game seems pretty good

It looks a lot but the thing that matters is not. 10% is small and since it can't be OC-ed, it'll always be rubbish effects. Yes, some effects compound like Atk Down and NP Damage Down but is the end result going to actually make a difference? Highly doubt it. And skill sealing sucks since it doesn't actually force a turn/action end so some enemies where you might benefit from the one action skill's brief respite just comes to hammer you down instead.

Unsurprisingly, yes. Semi's decent as long as you got that 8 stars the turn you're about to NP. And she actually works decently well as a pseudo-Buster support if you don't have a better Buster support.

All the effects in her NP are 10% only, though you can make her spam. Though IMO they really should have increased them to 20% with the NP upgrade, not give her that Toxic effect that is pretty much a gimmick.

Back then I suppose she was considered really good because she was the first AoE Assassin that wasn't Phantom, and her skills were definitely much more useful (and Assassins back then were fucking rare). Nowadays that's no issue anymore, so she got easily powercreeped, specially after we started to get Alter Egos IMO.

I still use her from time to time though, that voice is too sexy for me to resist.

I rolled her for the voice, not gameplay. So, obviously not disappointed. That said, I doubt that they'd ever double the values. She becomes too good that way for a static compounded effect NP. Rather, I'd settle for 10% scalable up to 20% and then add an NP Charge Down and scalable Arts Resistance Down.

The Arts Resistance Down is a key factor here as it can back-translate to NP Gain Up for Arts so it'll help Shuten charge a wee bit faster and maybe get her NP to chain. Especially once paired with Summer BB locking in the Arts. She still won't wreck faces right off the bat but with the right setup and card draw, she can end up single-handedly stalling the enemy enough to where her debuffs and damage actually kills the enemy off.

I use Shuten because having a drunk oni attack enemies while balancing a sake cup is hilarious.

I'm surprised anyone thought Shuten was actually good. The only time I ever bothered with her was during Setsubon and only because I have a LB Kaleidoscope and my other Assassins were on cooldown. Cleo is great and Semi is at least functional, but Shuten's niche is pretty weak.

Eh, I still use Shuten over Semi unless I wanna do Merlin shenanigans, or I need a single target (in which case Shiki comes in).

I thought Shuten would be better than semi for farming but apparently I was wrong

Shuten doesn't need 8 stars to perform decently in the damage department. That being said, you're using Assassins so not getting 8 stars is kinda lol unless we're talking vanilla hit counts.

Also, if you want better AoE damage, just use the freebie Summer Scathach.

Usually having an NP battery helps for farming, especially if they have a way to self boost their damage. Shuten kinda lacks the former. Still, she's serviceable for farming, if you can feed her the NP for it.

And still, if you like her character/voice/art/whichever, then gameplay is just a bonus.

Yes and no. Yes because Summer Scathach's NP is lvl 5 versus your lvl 2 so she scales better with other sources. And she has tops 50% Quick Up. No, because Summer Ushi relies less on LB Kaleidoscope (can use regular non-LB Kaleidoscope or Imaginary Numbers) to start the ball rolling and can potentially NP back-to-back. And a 3T Quick Up which can compensate for the lack of 3 other NP levels.

It really depends on how you set your farming team up, really.

In a general sense, expect Summer Scathach to output more AoE damage than Summer Ushi but Summer Ushi to use her NP more frequently and crit more often.

But yeah, I'd rather use Cleo over Semi since easier time getting NP up from scratch and doesn't rely on having 8 stars. Buster NP Servants aren't meant to NP back-to-back unless Gorilla deck, insane NP gain and crits all at once. Plus probably exploiting the NP gain bug of the Brave chain.

EDIT: I mean, I guess Semi's more viable in a Rider + Caster matchup but only that specific matchup.

Actually, scratch that. Semi gets better priority since NP charge so more flexible CE options to 3 turn more easily. But I rarely focus on 3 turn farming so that's why my above opinion.
