I forgot that this site only quotes one post and not the previous posts quoted. It was a response to the paragraph of Cu's history of screwing women who are not only older than him, but their daughters as well...you know, now that I think about it, a lot of heroes in these legends tend to make a lot of panties wet, which leads to women decreeing that they must have them...which some times, in turn, leads to shitstorms.

but what the exact nuances of those are in Japanese is something one might have to know Japanese for.

First line and second line are pretty clear.
Third line arai's is better. It's a rhetorical question. It would have been better if I died earlier, right?
……一人の男として、愛した女に悔いを残した。
Is the weird part. I always took it as Cu, alone, leaving his regrets with Scathach, as he's walking away back the mortal world.

She couldn't choose to, AKA couldn't commit suicide. That says nothing about being killed.
