I use my Merlin and Waver only for grand battles because I want easy modo there.
I use my Merlin either for challenge quests when my Tamamo/Waver/Li or Nursery Rhyme arts team fails me or during events when I need a Merlin specifically, rapid farming, and don't want to take a support Merlin for some reason.
I'm wondering when we'll get the Merlin equivalents for Arts and Quick Servants.
Merlin: Buster 50%+ (3 turns) 100%+ Crit Damage (1 turn).
???: Arts 50%+ (3 turn) 100%+ NP Gen (1 turn).
???: Quick 50%+ (3 turn) 100%+ Star Gen (1 turn).

That Quick section seems bad. I'd add something:
50% Quick + 100% Star Gen + Star Burst (removes star generation limit).
This'll make low hit count Quick Servants do a lot more. Obviously is shittier for high hit count Quick Servants but they never really needed it anyway.

Or rather, Merlin is Buster Tamamo.
Give the second part to Tamamo's Fox' Wedding through an Interlude. Her heal can be considered equal to the max HP.

There, now there are arguable specialized alternatives to Merlin for the highest difficulty content.

then you are dead inside like when I took my Max HP team with Tamamo, Merlin, and Caster Liz against Dantes and had Liz and Merlin tank TWIN ARM BIGGU CURUNCHU through sheer HP and it took 110 turns to clear
IDK how many turns that team took to clear Solomon, but I think it took awhile.
Never came close to dying though

I use that team during Goetia fight too and it was satisfying.
