Well, I'm thankful to Greek and Norse myths as well kids' Bible for making me an atheist.

Most Greeks are fairly devout, and even the ones that aren't at least respect the traditions. Not too sure about the Norse, but it doesn't really seem to work that way.- - - Updated - - -

Greek myth is cool, fingers crossed for an Odysseus who's an actual dude instead of a ditzy lucksack loli.

After Hercules (unspeaking monstrosity), Hector (perpetually oldmanning old man) and Jason (asshole who got through life using his friends) I think Odysseus might be safer as a genderbent. Though i don't know what that would make Penelope...

EDIT: Also Perseus being unfavourably compared to Shinji.Though at least Chiron and Achilles came out more or less alright?

Given Odysseus has a history of using disguises, I still wouldn't put it past Nasu to go the "bancho-type woman even other women fell for" route. Though he also had Telemachus, so yeah, probably not.

I am not a fan of Achilles rendition in Fate either. In Greek myth, he was portrayed as a gloryhound and a primadonna, while here he is mostly Mr.Carrot NiceGuy.

Not quite. Under our modern PoV yeah, but Achilles is consistently portrayed in the right in the Illiad, at least in his argument with Agamemnon (the main conflict of the epic). He has his low moment with Hektor but he repays his wrong later anyway. That idea of Achilles being a gloryhound who wants everyone attention it's a very modern interpretation of the character.

Percy seems like a decent guy from what little we know of him from Prototype.

I also think it's really important to point out that Fate/'s version of Jason is much interesting and entertaining than any properly heroic take.

Not quite, she gives a very contradictory idea of him in all she says. I think they are trying to paint her as very conflicted about him. Her wish is to confess her feelings, but she is also said to have a very severe case of unrequited love and hates men who lose interest on her. So I don't think they are painting her as a very unbiased source here.

Of Odysseus being bad, one thing I remember is accounts of him bashing hector's son against a wall. Dont know where that account is from but I guess it would be the Roman's, given they like to glorify Troy.But still it's not like TM will be choosy on which accounts to pick through. Likely it would be all.

Yeah but he was kind of being used as an allegory to the sophists of the time. It's a completely different period and style using characters from the heroic epics from centuries before.

At the very least they seem to be ignoring the Telegony so far. They also ignored Achilles more negative portrayals.

If they were choosy on what accounts came first then Achilles wouldn't have his Immortality. Which came from the Romans.
