Well, you are actually wrong on this one. As part of "agreement" with British, HK does retain some sort of freedom of speech and so publicly criticizing china, communist, their leaders.....etc are legal in HK. I am from HK so I know it is legal.

Of coz china is pissed but until the law has changed, those china censorship law doesn't applies in HK. And from TV, movies to printed matter, this sort of "self censorship" usually don't end well in HK or TW market. Why compare Karna with a AOE NP and Vlad who has a single target NP? In my opinion, Vlad is much more all rounded then Karna and his POTF and Innocent Monster works like a charm.

Not really comparing but more or less stating my position on him. It's alright, if anything bad publicity is still publicity (looking at the Trump effect)...Streisand effect and things like that. I would say this incident would cause FGO to be even more popular in the TW/HK/Macau market.

Geopolitics is complicated. You can't blame the Taiwanese/Chinese/Hongkies for being sensitive, they have a complicated political and cultural history.

But still -- the article even points out the irony in that the CEO of the game company boasting that they will beat China FGO and turning it into a geopolitical/cultural criticism in the bizzare launch event while the game itself censors Taiwanese culture and names. Wouldn't be surprised if this was intentional due to sabotage seeing how serious the Taiwanese and Chinese are in their fight over politics
