Piratits didn't arrive on "Okeanos" till 1579. That hits sorta close. However, the Spanish established silver trade with China on 1573, but dunno if there was anyone interesting over there during that time. Seems to be pretty likely a sailor, though.

My theory of her being Ajax is kind of shot down with the shield's design (possibly), so I can't wait to find out who she's meant to be.
Maybe Bradamante? She was a "knight of the shield".
Or, if it's a different gender-bend, perhaps Galahad? XP

Also, year 1888 and title "Knight of Londium", along with the emblem on that huge-ass shield that the character has on the end... it might be someone from Order of St John, and not Jack.
But then who?

There's also Queen Victoria who really got them going on 1888, but I dunno what the full extent of her involvement was.
She fought crime, obviously.
Perhaps an interpretation of Louise or Victoria a la Captain America? (As in shield as weapon)

Although I'd expect Servant Vicky to be older than the shieldmaiden looks. Since prime Victoria should be older Victoria.
Then again, that can be handwaved in a myriad ways.
