It's a university dorm, so we aren't expected to cook in the first place. We have a dining hall, but it's blegh.

I'm going to guess and say that it's obligatory to pay for it even if you don't want to and that it's pretty expensive.

We don't even have a toaster oven or rice cooker.

I don't have a rice cooker either, but I would like to.
And our toaster looks more like a grill.

I don't remember. All I remember is that there are multiple packages you can get, and I bought way too many dining hall passes. And I actually calculated it out, and it actually does cost less to eat out in the restaurants in town, per meal.

The one we have at home is more of a miniature oven, which was great, because it worked with everything. But in dorm, it's considered a fire hazard.

I just have to wait another half-year before I can move out into an apartment, with a proper kitchen. And then finally be able to cook my own meals proper.

I love cooking, and I'm usually the one among my friends who prepares the meal when we meet up. I just really dislike cleaning the kitchen and doing the dishes afterwards, so at least they don't complain much because I do all the rest!

I literally haven't cooked anything in three months and I feel like I'm going through withdrawal. Figuratively. Really, I just feel really crappy about all my meals, and how our fridge has nothing in it but drinks and bagels.

Technically not hot pot, even if that was what it said on the menu, but hey, it was pretty good.



It was more like everything that usually goes into a hot pot (beef, lotus root, potato slices, bai cai, seaweed, bean sprouts), already prepared and turned into a sort of elaborate noodle soup.

A friend of mine from IRC once mentioned that "cinnamint" pancakes were her favorite food. I was kind of weirded out by that at first, but at some point I decided to actually make pancakes with cinnamon and mint in them and they were truly amazing.

Related, I make pancakes. A lot. Most of them are weird ideas like cinnamint. Some are mediocre, some are great, all are delicious.
cooking anything else though kind of puts me on edge
