Protect an innocent who isn't involved in the war. She finds out anyway. Another explanation of the war occurs. She doesn't believe you. Take her to Kotomine to legitimise your claims. Yet another Grail War infodump. Kotomine decides to fuck with Shirou by messing with Ayako in the background. Guess she gets kidnapped so Shirou decides to Rambo the place with Rin's help, she can't abandoned her friend and love rival so easily. Ayako is saved. Proper threesome between you all occurs. Since the other routes have Berserker/Caster/Rider as the main antagonists (not including Gil/Dark Sakura, of course), this one would probably somehow have Lancer as the antagonist. Dunno how, but whatever. Archer ends up being a good guy when he realises that this is a path that has never been in any of the records he read in the Throne, so Shirou will not become him. The theme is realising limits, Ayako being feisty and headstrong has to realise she's way out of her depths, and Shirou will come to accept it too. In the end he will find peace with Ayako and can abandon his superhero ideals for happiness, but without the bucketloads of guilt that HF had. The ultimate Good End Route.

Or you could do something like where Shirou keeps in contact with Ayako, but slowly changes during the War. Ayako has no idea what's going on, but she slowly watches as Shirou descends into despair or something, and acts like his anchor to sanity, the normal life he wanted to protect. Or something.

Like in "All from a Hospital Bed". Doesn't have to be MoS, though.
