I fail to see a problem. There's nothing that inherently rules out Neco spirits as possible somewhere in a universe that's known to have aliens and other oddities going on like Magical Ruby. It may be true that specific individuals such as Neco Arc, which are clearly parodies, don't exist outside of the comedy setting, but I like to think somewhere out there is a real Great Cat Village.
