Because Melty Blood (at least the first, I haven't moved up to the latest version yet) has a lot less crazy speed/giant lasers/screen clearing stobe light specials/tagging. You could make them fit but it just wouldn't be the same.

What about Crucis/Fatal Fake?
Crucis is literally tag-team /UC plus Souichirou, Hassan and Angra. That's pretty awesome in my book.
And Fate/sword dance is shit.
Haven't touched it, can't anytime soon since no torrenting on campus allowed, and I want to be able to do all or some of the above against flagship characters from an entirely different company.

I mean , in DB fighting games you can have Krillin defeat Frieza. and in Gundam games you can use the original Gundam from the first show to take down the Turn-A and Quan[T]. so power level differences aren't that important when it comes to games
