So I'm watching Blizzcon right now and apparently Blizzard is doing a new IP: a cartoony first-person shooter. Sounds like Team Deathmatch is gonna be the way to go(possible other game modes?).
They showed a lot of it, and it looks pretty cool.

The artstyle looks awful, super incoherent WHACKY XD aesthetics I would have expected from a shitty Ubisoft slavestudio, not from Blizz. But whatever.

It can still be fun to play but...you know, TF2 looks awful now but at least it started out looking somewhat coherent.

I liked the idea of that buddhism concept guy with the floaty balls he tosses all over the place, and the Sven wannabe with the hammer- if they'd stuck with that sort of aesthetic, they'd've ended up with a new, interesting addition to the FPS genre. Kinda like a TF2 where everybody's as different as a sniper with a bow, a pyro with his flamethrower and a medic with the healgun. Too bad the rest of it looks like regular old FPS, with stuff stolen from a bunch of other FPSs.
Still, it does look interesting.

I looked at the gameplay demonstration and the killspeeds seem kinda fast for this kind of game. Not to mention it looks super fucking busy at all times.
but lets not kid ourselves here, its a blizzard game in beta, 6 months after release its basically a different game

Unreal Tournament is pretty fun. Looking forward to see what the next one will bring, if I can even play it. Still hoping I can buy 2004 or any of them on Steam at one point, but I doubt that will happen.
I'm not too sure about this game as of now, but it's probably subject to change and it's hard to judge it right now. Reminded me a little bit too much of Team Fortress 2, a game which I did not really like, but time will tell whether or not I might try it. Probably not, haven't really shown much interest in FPS games as of late, although that might be because most of them are for console and I don't care too much to look further into the genre, except UT.
The only FPSs worth anything are on the PC.
I'm not even being lol console war right now, the PC is objectively better for FPSs in literally every way.

It's not a war when it's not even a fight. A PC is objectively better in every way, even for fighters and shit because controller support.
You can bring a laptop round to a friend's house. Hell, you could even go lolthirdworld and go to a network.
Eh, you could argue optimisation and dedicated teams working on such means it'll run better on a console, whereas 99.9% of PCs aren't optimised for gaming in the same way consoles are.
Also, there is no such thing as Playstation controller support for PC. Unofficial chinese software crap all over the place.

I'm not sure if I did imply this, but I never played or cared to play a FPS on a console. I just meant to say that most of them are being developed for consoles (Like Call of Duty). PC just seems like an afterthought so I don't really care to play any of the ones that were released over the last 3 or 4 years. That and disinterest in the genre as of late.

True enough. The last FPS I played properly was Blacklight, and that was pretty meh. Not enough weapon choices at start, ten thousand years to earn each gun part, lol renting gun parts takes five thousand years what the hell's the point.
