I may have oversimplified the situation.

Becoming a HS teacher in Spain
Pre-bologna: you had to get a 5-year degree (roughly equivalent to a Masters) + a specific short course (<1 year) in order to become a high school teacher.
Post-bologna: you have to get a (usually 4-year) Bachelor degree + a specific 1-year Masters in order to become a high school teacher.

I have the old 5-year Masters-like degree, and now I'm getting the new 1-year Masters on top of it (the old short course isn't available anymore, sigh).

Also, I lost all my spellcasting abilities many years ago.
