I feel like my favorites are... hm... some mix of Hunchback, Lilo, Mulan, Black Cauldron, and Emperor's.

*gasp* Someone else who liked "The Black Cauldron"! I'm not alone!
(I mean, sure, it's nowhere near as good as the books and it's a terrible adaptation, but on its own, it's a fine work.)
I have literally never seen a copy of the books anywhere.
As for the movie, it has problems but I'm just a mark for that sort of late 70's-mid 80's pulp fantasy bullshit, I also like the Rankin-Bass stuff a lot. It's got John Hurt as an evil skeleton man.
I mean I'm sure they're at mine if I cared to look for them.
I just didn't. It's true, it happened that way.
Just saw Atomic Blonde. Good Fucking Movie. My only quibble is that sometimes Charlize Theron loses the English accent during the framing device. Still a really solid spy movie, with some great action scenes. Not as pretty as John Wick, but far more visceral. Probably my favourite stand alone movie of the year so far, with only Baby Driver as competition.
Binged All Of Gundam In 4 Years, 1 Week and All I Got Was This Stupid Mask
FF XIV: Walked to the End
Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
Oh apparently Disney is actually going to make a live action Prydain film series
Went and seen the Dark Tower last night.
And I have to say I commend them for taking seven books, each as long as a LotR book and then putting it all into a single movie and fusing three major characters into one, they did it in a way that.... They weren't even the same story. It was interesting.
Not sure who the targeted audience was, as book fans generally hate it, because it isn't the books (think if they made a Lord of the Rings TV series, and called it as such except, instead of about the ring and Saruman's ambitions it was GoT in MidEarth with Frodo as the sidekick of the mc0 you'd be like wtf) and people who never read it find it was too rushed/fast (when if you have knowledge of whats in Roland's head your a bit more understanding to the nuances).
But that's the weird part I kinda appreciated the story itself, I wouldn't say it was the Dark Tower but I'd say it was decent- its kinda like the recent Blame! movie/manga compared to the original series. Canon asked if it felt like a gaiden and I kinda have to agree.
I do have to say though, I felt Randall/Walter was terrible and cheesy given how menacing he always was (he p much goes around telling people to stop breathing, which is alright once but when he does it like five times in 10 mins your kinda like ) but my friend thought he was one of the best in the movie.
I'm disappointed they went to the amusement park (this is also why I think they did not target this mainly towards people unfamiliar, as there was way too many small references) without seeing the bear and turtle

So McConaughey nailed the part, eh?I felt Randall/Walter was terrible and cheesy
Jokes aside, the worst part of the movie is the story, for reasons you've mentioned. Wonder how the planned TV series is supposed to go.
Saw Logan Lucky last night. That is a very good movie. Basically redneck Oceans Eleven, with Channing Tatum with a lame leg, bleach blonde explosive expert Daniel Craig, and one armed bartender Adam Driver. There's also a scene where a prison riot occurs because George R R Martin is too slow a writer.

Netflix Death Note was pretty bad, but I really liked Willem Dafoe. He kind of stole every scene he was in for me.
everyone who tells you to not watch netflix death note is not looking out for you
ignore them

Just watched the oft praised Tale Of Two Sisters and it is a terminally bad movie.
