The last film I saw was The Interview on Christmas, it was really bad. You know a film's shit when starts off by making gay jokes for 10 mins straight.

Nope, it's just unfunny and boring. The best way to describe the film is that it's two hours of James Franco shitting himself and flinging his wastes at Seth Rogan's face while cursing like some epic twelve year old at the top of his lungs.

I'm going to watch it but I will not enjoy it as they wont pull it off correctly. I haven't seen the original film for a few years but how well would the story translate to film (like direct copy)?

We don't know if they're adapting manga material, adapting the film, doing something like the GitSSAC setting, or doing something entirely original. Too early to speculate how this is gonna go down.
