I have a few required viewing things missing on the animu side but a lot of those are just required viewing because they ran on some channel in the US and people think they are hot shit due to nostalgia.
Like Outlaw Star, that just looks awful but everybody tells me to watch it because the Americans had it on that channel.

What I learned from Eva is that when the budget runs out, make scenes stretch out as long as possible to avoid needing any real animation.
They were shot as one movie stop doing this shit it's the worst.

It's all one thing. It's like saying you like the second half of movie x more than the first half, but the movie is already cut in episodes, so why make the cut so arbitrarily based on release history and not where it actually matters.
