    Coraline was a good adaptation.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 was not. It's bad, and outside of a few scenes, I didn't like it.

    Saw Cypher tonight.

Fairly entertaining movie, nice score and use of color. I called the main twist halfway through while drunk though, so I wouldn't call it revolutionary or anything. Great near-future aesthetic though with the Googlecorp vs. Appleglomeracy-type thing, though.

Beasts of No Nation, Inside Out, Star Wars

I still need to see Sicario, still need to see The Man From U.N.C.L.E., still need to see He Named Me Malala, and Hateful 8 just came out.

Some people really liked Creed and Krampus, don't know the reception for Bridge of Spies.

Was Grand Budapest Hotel this year, or last?

If not, maybe the New Tarantino one? Still haven't seen it yet. Or Creed, which I hear is good.

Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Fury Road are the two best for me, this year. I haven't yet seen Beasts of No Nation, though.

Granted, I don't think I've even seen any other movie this year bar Fury Road, but it's Fury Road.
My attempts at being a (fanfic) writer:

Eclipse - a Saber Alter oneshot
Requiem for a Race - Altrouge and Ortenrosse hunt the TAs ( 1/3 chapters, discontinued )
    Memories of a King - a 'Saber Origins' story ( 8/? chapters, discontiuned )
    A Small Warmth - a post UBW-Good oneshot, Saber/Rin
    Devil's Thrill - Narbareck hunts down a DAA Blackmore ( 10/10 chapters, finished )
    Boundary of Loneliness - Ryougi Shiki/Alphard Al-Shua oneshot. Lemon-flavoured

Out of Avengers, Jurassic World, Star Wars and Fury Road, it's obviously Fury Road.

I need to go to more and smarter movies this year or I'll have to revoke my pretension to intellectualism licence.

I completely forgot about U.N.C.L.E. That was another really good movie. Guy Ritchie striking a nice balance between his earlier movies and his Holmes movies. Almost like the more towards the modern time he sets the movie, the closer it becomes to Snatch.

The Big Short was a great movie, very intriguing to someone who completely missed the Global Financial Crisis.

The best comment I heard about that was "it's enjoyment is inversely proportional to how much you actually know about the crisis."

It did a good job in giving me a broad understanding of how such a crisis could come about at least. Now I can watch this documentary series about it without being utterly bamboozled.

Watched The Last Emperor. Not sure how I heard of it before, but it's pretty good.

Azur and Asmar: The Princes' Quest was a real joy to watch. The animation is better when it's focusing on the 2D backgrounds rather than the uglier 3D character models.

half of that comedy didn't work for me because I didn't grow up watching shittily dubbed old Chinese movies, I watched them in their original language as they came out.

Yeah, it is. I'm... not even sure what the message of the movie was meant to be? I mean, it clearly tried be more than 'just' an action movie. I think it could've perhaps benefited from being longer? The narrative felt all over the place towards the end.
