Same reasonis written that way. I found the reaction to 'Matthew' hilarious (NO STOP IT SHE'S A GIRL SHE OBVIOUSLY CAN'T HAVE A BOY'S NAME YOU'RE DUMB) so now I insist on it regardless of canonicity.
