Hello. I'm a big Type-Moon fan and I'm working on a novel with a magic system. It's a contempatory fantasy like some of the Fate franchises. I'm working on a magic system and I discovered it's very similar to Magic in the Nasuverse. If somebody don't mind reading alot and have a great interest in magic system of Nasuverse, could you tell me if I'm copying Nasus work. Sorry for some of the bad grammar and spelling since english isn't my native language.
Magic and Magecraft
Magic is a mystery, only partly understood by humans. Magecraft is used to perform miracles that's possible to comprehend and realize scientifically. Through research, magecraft has become more advanced and less limited.
The Source
The Source or The Root, is a metaphysical object or location that contain the powers and energies that holds the world together. The Source contain the past, presents and the future.
The World
The world is from a magus view, the reality. A better understanding of the world allows for an increased understanding in magic. A human can only partly see the world.
Magus, Magi
People who studies magecraft are called magi. Most magi have a soul structure, a pseudo-neurological nervoussystem that transfer vigor into energy and a miracle. But a soul structure isn't entirely neccesary. Some magi, allthough rare, is without abilities and rely on magical artifacts and/or ESP to perform miracles.
Mage Association is a world-wide organization that focus on research in magecraft and magic. Majority of the organizations member is old families and factors. Magi are secret by nature and holds much of their knowledge to their families and/or factors.
Humans
Humans can be divided into two key factors. The first one is the soul, the force and the second one is the body, the container.
The soul is the force that seek survival, or with other words the will to live. Souls are the forces behind the will to live and require a body to interact physically. It is possible to transfer the soul to another body, but the soul will almost always reject it. The soul and its body combines and develops a personality. Sometimes the personality and the body contradicts the force behind the soul, with other words: suicide.
Humans are limited to their understanding of the world.
