The state of Nevada has some of the most permissive gun laws in the US. It is legal to carry an assault rifle and there is no magazine capacity limit.

There are no purchase permits and blue cards are no longer required.

There is no waiting period mandated for firearm purchases and private gun sales are OK.

but how could this have happend i dont understand

One 64 year old guy with a lot of guns and ammo on the 32nd floor of a hotel. Mostly aiming at a music festival.

um...how he did it according to some admittedly unreliable reporting appears to be a combination of a fully automatic rifle and the concert being fenced in resulting in the crowd being trapped while trying to leave. I imagine a good 10-15 of the dead and half the injured weren't hit, just trampled.

Apparently some poker player was on site with an assault rifle trying to get people out of there or something so I guess good guys with guns don't help as much as we would like.
