It could have been a lot worse. It's good no-one else died.
Due to polarization I am aware feelings are nearly set in stone at this point but yeesh.
for those who supported trump as the tough savvy negotiator, you almost wonder if the press conference wherein he essentially bent over and gave putin a blowjob on international television had to at least shake up some conceptions.
Owning the libs by abandoning the hegemonic world order
status: retroactively ownedHow might unipolarity end? Krauthammer argued that the most serious challenge to unipolarity would not come from competing nations like China. Nor would it come from domestic liberal isolationists still haunted by the memories of Vietnam and opposed to foreign adventures for the sake of promoting American values. Rather it would come from the old-fashioned isolationism of traditional conservatives, who believe that America's national interests are never served by foreign entanglements and adventures of any kind.

I mean, disgusted, but not really surprised
i think he also said something about negotiating with Taliban for more efforts to end fighting
I wouldn’t consider it bad in itself but coming from Trump reeks of the most hypocritical shit given all the dung he’s thrown at Obama. Also something about not helping the Afghan government seem legitimate but then again the Afghan government isn’t exactly what I would consider a strong government in the first place unfortunately.
something about India also interested in sending troops over to curb Pakistani Taliban influences?
The president knows about as much about how he's resolving military entanglements as you know how your computer solves differential equations. Afghan government is a structure purely for PR purposes. The majority of deaths in theatre are still generated by constantly cycling American SOF units.
From the Rolling Stone: US citizen sues government after narrowly surviving five drone strikes targeted at him.
Very interesting (and disturbing) story.

With Trump, it's always hard to tell, but if he really does back Taiwan against PRC tyranny, I can only give kudos.
The hero of my childhood is gone. T_T

He will always be my "Number One". ;_;7

Damn. 43 is young to die, as well.
But yes, I came here to post something:
Basically, today's world, but China, instead of Russia.

so basically we're fuckedTheir dramatic report on keeping that rise under 1.5 degrees C states that the world is now completely off track, heading instead towards 3C.
Staying below 1.5C will require "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society".
It will be hugely expensive, the report says, but the window of opportunity is not yet closed.
I’m gonna have to correct you, Leo.

Feels good not having industry people can't blame you for shit.
But no, we’re not fucked. Not everyone at least. But anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to get beachside property is out of their mind, because the people living on the coasts? They are the ones who are screwed. The outer areas of Manhattan will more than likely be permanently flooded within the next fifty years.

My point is basically this: turn on on your lights as late as possible, and make sure they’re off when you leave a room. And public transit is our friend.
