China has learnt its lessons from SARS, thus the situation outside of Wuhan is pretty much in control, at least for now. In addition, Xi has set the tone that the virus is as, if not more serious than SARS. As for Wuhan, let's just say the residents will be calling for the blood of the Wuhan government as they plead for Central Government's intervention.

Also, for the record, SARS itself wasn't lethal. The issue was that it was misidentified and people went without treatment and let the symptoms worsen.
Also IIRC most of the victims or SARS were the elderly or otherwise immune comprised people.

Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
The eating of these animals by minor few is the main problem despite it being banned. Coupled with the implications of Dershowitz's arguments against Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress and the DoJ's current positions on Congressional subpoenas, executive privilege, and immunity from indictment, prosecution, and even investigation... Looks like Kamerad might get his wish.
Whether Trump wins 2020 or not.

Definitely a big part of it. Unfortunately, the current alternatives seem to be Orwellian authoritarian hell and... extinction?
