Yes, it will help those other poor people who only want better living standards and are angry at the USA's continuous political blunders. And yes, those are serious matters that need to be addressed. Al Qaeda was USA's cold war biproduct, and ISIL is a result of the vaccum the USA created during the Iraq War. There's a lot of justified contempt.
But ISIL and the like have a different internal logic.
They are fanatics who have already made up their mind. Look at how many foreign fighters the have.
Fanatics who will kill said earlier group for not being as fanatical as they are.
